Feeling down...

I know I shouldn't have but I quit logging a while ago. I've starting logging again today but it's so hard to keep it up... So now I feel like beating myself up because I know I'll never know if I'm caring for myself correctly if I don't know what I'm putting in my body and if I'm staying active enough. How do you beat the feeling of wanting to quit? Or the one of failure if you do forget to log in for a while?

I am going through similar feelings but in other parts of my life. I don't seem to care anymore.
I don't think not logging is necessarily a bad thing, what is it about logging you dislike?
I think eating wholefoods is the way forward but all this has got to start gradually! no rush0 -
Logging takes no time..what takes the time is planning your eating and working out..if you don't want to log then you don't want to be honest with yourself because then you will have to change....tough love over here..no one is going to do this for you my friend..the time you took making the post..you could have logged at the very least breakfast...good luck to you!0

you push through. When one part of you says to quit, tell your mind to shutup and get going. remember your goals. you need motivation. If you don't have goals, motivation, or a solid reason for wanting to log and track and be healthier then it just won't work for you. Plain and simple.
There are a million quotes out there like this, but here: Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th.

It will happen. You won't be perfect. Nobody is. I'm sure even the most diligent trackers have forgotten to track one bite of something, and most people have stopped logging in a while. NOT BECAUSE THEY FORGET, though. That's an excuse. When you stop logging it's because you made the decision not to do it today.
Don't give yourself excuses. Find your reasons. Log. Be healthy.
Good luck!0 -
don't be hard on yourself-for me its about writing before I bite it-and working out-look that you are logging in today-I just pick my smart phone up- before I eat it I just log it-the way you beat the feeling is knowing know matter what you can do it and your worth it-thanks for being so honest-so give youself a break don't be so hard on your self0

Whenever I feel like quitting or pushing things off "until", I try to visualize two things. The first is what my life will look like if I don't quit or procrastinate. I see, in my mind's eye, the benefits and the rewards of this decision. The second is what my life will look like if I do give in and quit. Again, in my mind's eye, I assess all of the results and consequences that will come from making THIS choice. I look at the first choice as "LIFE" and the second choice as "DEATH", because in all reality that is what these choices boil down to. I would rather choose LIFE. I'm not just talking about physical existence either, I mean the total package: A healthy life! A vibrant life. A fulfilling life! The alternative has NOTHING good for you. NOTHING!
Pick yourself up! Think about WHY "LIFE" is your best option and then go for it. The first few (hundred) steps are hard, but if you make the choice to DO, no matter WHAT, I PROMISE it will get easier! Choose to LIVE, my friend!

You let go of the past.
Make logging as easy as possible. I find that making a meal plan for the upcoming week over the weekend and pre-logging it in MFP helps a lot.
If I stick to my plans, it's already logged. If something changes I only have to delete or add one or two items rather than a days worth.0 -
I just started doing this 2 months ago and it has been a big help to me. Do I like logging, not particulary but I have made it a part of my day and I make myself log every single thing if I go over its not the end of the world, but it does help me make better choices. I keep my diary open so others seeing it helps me be accountable. Just try to make it a habit in your day you might find its not as hard as you think!0
