My name is Anthony from Ireland and realised I was overweight. My start weight was about 16 stone 7 and I am now at 13 stone 13. I feel great and have done the weight loss in what I consider to be a sustainable way. Smaller portions less alcohol no junk food etc. Problem is I was limiting myselt to about 1400 cals a day and weight myself every day too. I would like to get to about 13 10 but would like to remain at this weight too. What do I do now to maintain this weight and not keep losing weight. advice please

You can recalculate your goals to "maintain my current weight". MFP will then tell you how many calories you should be eating to stop losing weight. and (hopefully) stay at the weight you currently are :-) Then just carry on logging as normal.

You should add slowly to your current cal intake tho- 100-200 cals per week until you get to MFP recommendations. If you give your body too much at once it could put on a little weight and many people find that discouraging.

I am concerned/interested about maintenance also. I'm not there (won't be there for a couple more months), but I am a planful person, so I am already thinking about it. With winter fast approaching (there are very harsh winters where I live here in the midwest USA), I likely won't be able to walk every day, so need to plan on how I am going to exercise, how often, etc. to maintain a healthy weight. I will be reading the responses to your question for my own purposes as well.

    Blessings on your goals
