I’ve been following this regime since August 2012, currently maintaining with 6:1 and intend carrying on indefinitely as it suits me very well.

G'day Tash I began doing 5:2 just under 3 months ago. In that time I've lost about 8kg (about 17 ib). I do zero cals on fast days and find it Very easy to do & maintain. I plan on doing this now for life, may drop back to 6:1 once I'm down to goal (about 7 kg to go). Apart from the weight loss, I feel healthier & more alert.

my method is working out to more of a 4:3, or ADF i guess. my TDEE is around 2200 cals/day, 15400/wk. i do 4 days at 2500 and 3 days at 750. gives me 12250/wk. a nice deficit that i have lost lb/wk at for the last month or so. helped me break through a level i had been at since feb. - march time frame doing 16:8 IF. that's even with a few weekends of events. damn weekends. always something. banquet, games, family outing, next up is thanksgiving. oh well, that's another reason i am liking the 3 days of deficit, M-W-F. then weekends i don't really worry about, the key is a deficit. working good for me.
edit to say the one thing i have noticed is a reduction on the handles of love, just since i started the fasting.
  • I've been doing IF for about 3 yrs (5:2). I skip breakfast & lunch on fasting days, drink zero cal drink like coffee and tea throughout the day and eat normal dinner. I don't normally eat breakfast so only change for me is to skip lunch which is not that bad. I try not to eat too much carbs but don't have much restrictions on what to eat. I am using the method called Eat Stop Eat and I have to have something simple enough to continue for long time so this IF works out very well for me. http://fastingfatloss.org
