    I see threads here and there asking what everyone's biggest regrets are, and sure, we all have plenty of those. But I think it's just as important to reflect on the mistakes that we are glad we never made. Here are the major ones I can think of off the top of my head.

      Had kids. Every time I visit my sisters, it's reinforced. Love playing with the nieces and nephew, but it's pretty awesome to be able to go home to a quiet house with everything just where I left it.

      These are mine too! I tried pot once in high school and was so paranoid that I sat on the edge of a couch staring at the door for hours and jumping (read almost falling over because I was also drunk) every time there was a noise outside. Never had the desire to do that or anything heavier ever again.

      I'm also glad that I never seriously considered giving my daughter up for adoption even though I had just graduated when I discovered I was pregnant and everyone was encouraging it. She's pretty much the reason I'm still alive.

      I'm glad I never gave up trying to get into vet school. Rejected twice but was accepted on my 3rd try!
      Just because things are tough does not mean you just accept it -- sometimes you have to fight for what you want.

      Also glad I never smoked. Gross, addicting habit and expensive.

      Also have never gone skydiving, and though plenty of people give me grief for not doing that, I'M quite happy with not doing it. I don't do the whole "suspended in air" thing.
