Want a huge meal that won't destroy my healthy plan!?

So I am at work with nothing to eat besides snack bars - didn't plan well today. Everyone around me is eating McDonalds, Wendys, Pizza, etc and it's making me sooooo hungry.

What could I go out and buy right now (that doesn't require cooking or preperation) that would be a huge, delicious, super filling, meal but won't ruin my calories, etc for the day?!

Options around my work include (wendys, taco bell, qdoba, subway, walmart, kfc, dennys, and a steak house.

Options?

  • I guess i would go for the qdoba or subway. subway...get a foot long, pile on the veggies, turkey and mustard (maybe hold the cheese and other dressings).

qdoba...i think you can do salad bowls there, right? stick with a modest amount of rice, pile on the veggies and salsas; add a modest portion of protein; sprinkle a little cheese on top.

I would go with a sub. It will fill you up and be less calories then any of the other options.

    STEAKHOUSE!

Get a big rump steak with a salad and glass of water.

McDonald's Sweet chili McWrap is 360ish calories of yummy! The McRib is back too, though, I had that Saturday.

Either a sub or, if you're like me and are a fast food junkie, go to McD's, get a Happy Meal (chicken nuggets) and a fruit & yogurt parfait. Don't forget the Sweet n sour sauce. I think that comes out to like 535 calories for the Happy meal and yogurt. Drink water.
Bonus- you get a toy :)

My instinct would be to go to Subway, order a salad loaded with veggies, double turkey, cheese, and a lighter dressing. This is my go-to 'fast food' meal. Mmmm....

Go to Walmart and pick up one of their hot and ready rotisserie chickens for $5. Rip off the skin and go to town.

Those are surprisingly not the answers I thought I would get -- I figured everyone would say to buy something from Walmart and not to touch fast food. Interesting.

I unfortunately can't control my mouth when they ask me if I want sour cream and cheese at Qdoba so that might be a bad choice - I always say yes and will never say no.

Gonna head to walmart - see if I can get some microwave soup or something - maybe a salad.

i am all about the soup...but i thought that feel under the category of something you had to "cook." good luck!

Guessing I'm too late here, but getting a baja chili salad from wendys' is filling and fairly low cal. Just don't use the tortilla strips or dressing (or half dressing max).

Not sure what the cals are right now... I usually get the half with a baked potato or something. Yummmm....

  • Get a healthy wholemeal/wholegrain bread roll at subway, then fill it with healthy meat, e.g. turkey, add cheese if you like, veges, but healthy dressings, e.g. honey mustard or something.. Dunno haven't been to Subway for ages.
You could probably get a large, healthy salad with chicken or something... They have chicken salad at Mcdonalds

    :)

Or just make a large salad the night before and enjoy :)
