:flowerforyou: Hello everyone. I am somewhat in good shape but slowly loosing control. Since I've gotten married, I have gained 20 lbs and it doesn't seem to want to stop. I have horrible self control when it comes to foods a shouldn't be eating and working full time and running a household causes me to cook sloppy, stress often, and have 0 time for myself when it comes to health and fitness.

I look forward to chatting with some of you and sharing ideas on incorporating healthy food, choices and ideas into our lifestyles

    hey there,
I just found this website, and figured I would give it a try. I think that I too am in pretty good shape; but am not happy with the flab on my stomach. I really want it to be a lifestyle change this time for me. I lose it (10bs), I gain it etc. etc. I too would appreciate support on healthy eating, especially the snacks.
  • Just curious if the 'ello means your from Great Britain or just being silly. The reason I ask is that i started getting serious watching this show on BBC called "You are what you eat". Quite a wake up call. Congrats on being newly married. Any kids yet? Totally understand the stress. Not only are my dinners also "sloppy" and hurried due to my crazy schedule, but I like to have a few drinks as well. This isn't going to be easy, but it's nice to know there are so many out there optimistic.
  • Thank you for the warm welcome.
No, I don't have any kids yet and I'm not British, but I am Portuguese so that right across the way.
I do love BBC America but haven't had the time to watch in a while. Whats that show about? I usually stop by to watch the clean house show...whatever its called, and ABFAB. Now those girls(Eddie and Patsy) really have a way of inspiring us to keep thin... and a little buzzed

    Greetings CupoJava!

You are so smart to get a grip while you're young and before it gets out of control...wish I had...no time like the present...I've finally discovered that I have to be a tiny bit selfish in order to take good care of myself...you can't take care of them if you don't take care of yourself...that's what they've told me.

I think you'll find this site most helpful...the food diary is most valuable for meal planning and managing to stay within my calorie range for weightloss...have about 40 to go.

  • Hi!
My husband and I both gained 20lbs after getting married. :blushing: It was just so easy to order pizza or snack on Doritos and chocolate after a long day and cuddle on the couch.

We've been apart the past several months, but I'll be home in a few weeks and boy is he in for a reality check. I've lost 20lbs since he's last seen me and I plan on keeping it off.

This site has been really great at helping me visualize my food intake, and everyone posts some great healthy recipes I plan on trying out when I get home. Check them out!

    Good luck!
  • I love AbFab! I totally sympathize w/ Edwina. I've always been the funny fat friend with the pretty face. Meanwhile the rest of my pals party down & don't gain a damn thing! "You are what you eat" is on actually right after "How Clean is your House", the host is this short little powerhouse that really exposes to people how they're destroying their bodies by their food choices. Am I watching too much TV? May be part of my problem. I love my TiVo. Anyway, great that you don't have so much to loose, it's good you're taking care of it before the kids. I've forgotten how important it is to make time for yourself.
