Not sure what to do, HELP!

Ok so I have recently lost 4 stone, started at 19st 8lbs and I am currently 15st 8lbs. My aim is to get to around 13 stone as I am 5'11 so think I would personally look fine at that weight/height. My plan was to drop from 19st 8 to 13st by just eating sensibly and doing cardio which has worked for me currently, I was then going to start lifting weights as I am looking for muscle definition and want a small enough BF% so my muscle is visible.

Im not to sure if I should start lifting now,at 15st 8 and carry on with cardio or just focus on fat loss with cardio like I have been, as muscle weights more than fat and I dont want to be demotivated on the weekly weigh in if the scale goes up as I wont know if its fat or muscle.

Basically my end result i want to look something like this -

Basically, shall i start lifting now or focus on weight loss and dropping my BF and then start gaining muscle as it will be visible (Photo 1)

Thanks guys!

    Start lifting now!

If you just do cardio, you will be losing both fat and muscle. Lifting weights (and getting enough protein) will help you keep the muscle you already have and grow a bit more (newb gains) while you are losing fat. Also, you will not gain muscle weight fast enough to make a difference on the scale, specially on a calorie deficit. The difference in the pics is BF%, the one you like is about 10%, where the other one is closer to 20% BF.
  • Cheers for the fast reply mate, so basically sketch up a lifting schedule while keeping a deficit will burn the fat, build the muscle and evetually ill drop down below 10% i will look similiar to picture 1 in body type?

Also do you reccomend less weight more reps or more weight less reps?

Look up Stronglifts 5x5. Follow that program. Be successful.

You won't gain muscle on a calorie deficit. Lifting prevents loss of the muscle you already have (which is substantial.) Plus it trains your central nervous system to use the muscle you already have efficiently, making you stronger.

I'd go with a proven lifting program like Stronglifts or similar as tigersword said, great for beginning weight lifters.

More reps, less reps, at this point doesn't really matter - just get to lifting and hit all the major muscle groups.

Can't promise you will look as good as that pic, that dude has great DNA, but you'll never know if you don't try. It's a matter of getting lean enough and building well developed muscles. That's the look I'm going after as well. Good luck with it.

start lifting, muscles burn calories all day long...... Lift safe, be strong and celebrate your acheivements. Be proud of who you are, every body is different, we can't all look like a fitness model in a photo.. a photo that may or may not have been retouched and photoshopped. Just like I can't be taller, no matter now hard I try, I must accept that my height as it is.
