Running shoes for low arch

Hi

Just wondering has anyone who suffers from low arch/ flat feet can recommend some good running shoes , I have been suggested asics 2000's but just want to weigh up all my options
And plus asics are so god damn ugly so if I could find a alternative shoe that was abit nicer looking and just as effective for support I'd be a very happy camper :)

There is a VAST array of running shoes out there. Go to a specialist shop and have them check your gait, and take their advice.

My local shop only sell asics , I will be in a bigger town the weekend so I can ask them but I know they also only test your gait with asics runners
They seem to be the most popular when it comes to problematic feet , the last time I enquired about good nike ones with support I could tell the sales person knew very little

So I was hoping to have a good knowledge myself before entering the shop so I can make a fully rounded decision

The thing is, I can tell you what shoes suit me. So can anyone else on here. But until you try them on, that information is useless to you.

I will say, though, ASICS are pretty well regarded by runners. I used to own a pair. Don't they come in different colours?

I wear Asics and love them. I'm on my 3rd pair. If you want to run I wouldn't worry about the "style" of you shoe. Having no pain ranks way higher on my list.

You need to take the advice given and go to a running store and allow them to watch your gait and foot strike and get fitted and try out several choices... my store even lets you out front on the sidewalks to test them out...... Best of Luck

Oh ya I totally know its completely personal but there are shoes specifically aimed towards flat feet, , I don't intend to go out and buy any shoe just based on a suggestion by anyone I just want to have a general knowledge before hitting the shops because some sales people aren't experienced enough and make wrong suggestions the last asics I was sold after a trip to my physio she said they were completely wrong for my feet ,

I know that the appearance of them doesn't matter if they get the job done but no harm in checking to see if there are others on the market that appeal to me more , Im not going to lie I like hitting the gym with nice runners and after spending a small fortune on shoes I would like to be overall happy with them
Saying that if asics were the absolute best I would suck it up and deal with the fact that they are ugly shoes

I'm only looking for suggestions so I can check them ALL out and then make my decision

There is a big difference between going to an actual running specialty store and going to ****s sporting goods or the finish line or etc....... for that matter but I got nothing else.... best of luck on your quest.......

Unfortunately there's no specialist running store close to where I live , my nearest city is just over 2 hours away so I will look into running specialist stores there , thanks for your advice :)

I have low arches and started dealing with plantar fasciitis over a year ago and Brooks running shoes are great, and if you're interested in getting into barefoot running or just walking then Vibram and other minimal shoes have been shown to work well

I have probably the flattest foot ever, and I am not exagerating lol. Check out this website http://www.mizunocda.com/running/find-your-perfect-shoe I have Mizuno's which is this website.
I used this and was recommended a shoe. I also went to a specialty store and was fitted and actually ended up being fitted for the exact same shoe so the website definately works and I love my shoes. They do not hurt at all and fit great and comfortably. A lot of the running shoe websites have the same type of thing where you answer all the questions and then they recommend the right shoes. I know Brooks does as well. This way you don't have to worry about getting to a store.

I just realized I linked you the Canadian website so if you aren't Canadian just look up Mizuno.com instead.

Oh perfect thank you , another shoe brand I've never heard of so adding that to the list of shoes to check out I knew there had to be more options than asics !

Also just another question has anyone experienced pain up the back of their legs from flat feet , I have been getting pain up the back of my legs and now I'm just starting to think maybe its connected because its the same leg I have pain in my arch at the moment , how I found out I had flat feet is I pulled muscles in my lower back otherwise I would have had no idea so I think I may need to take a trip back to the physio with the pain in the back of my leg now

I don't have a specialty running shop in my area either. I've had great luck with this site:
    Check out RoadRunnerSports.com
    http://www.roadrunnersports.com/rrs/content/content1.jsp?contentId=11900101&sc=CX13M060&cm_mmc=affiliate-_-LS-_-homepage-_-na&siteID=Gazv8P6JxOc-mf8ICsKbcbnb76aKQ68nyw
Their VIP program is only $1.99 to join and you get a 90 day WEAR EM' AND LOVE EM GUARANTEE, free shipping and 10% off. Their shoe finder app is TOPS.
I really did wear a pair of shoes for over 2 months and returned them. Great company. They also sell other great running accessories, not just shoes!

I also have flat feet and had my gait analysis done and was recommended Brooks too... I have arthritis in my hips and over-pronate too and was always in agony the day after doing any running and even walking. These trainers have definitely helped. Just a shame they haven't made me any fitter or faster...
