Does sleeping after meal increas ur weight fr short time??

Ok so today I weighed myself to 105.8kg early mornin.....and am pretty sure I havnt taken more than 1500cal today....even after weigt fluctuations my weigh nvr xrosses 107.5....but tonight it reached to 108.5 or something...
I hav only 2 meal a day and after the first meal I took a nap and after wakin up I was feelin pretty more full than evem after the meal....so is it normal fluctuation or wat
PS: I weigh three days a week and once wen I wake up and once before I sleep. ....
PPS: No Bs or troll posts...m really tired of people criticizing

First you shouldn't weight so often and use measurements and pictures instead. Weight fluctuates and it's normal. On any given week I weight more or less 10lbs yet everything fits the same and measurements are the same as well.
Meal timing is irrelevent to weight loss. Calories in vs out, eating before bed can disturb some people's sleep but that's about it.
I wouldn't stress it if I were you.
Log everything, weight everything, make sure you are eating enough at a deficit and ditch the scale0 -

STOP overthinking it.
What do you gain from weighing yourself after napping and before going to sleep again? Nothing but concerning yourself with normal fluctuations.
Stick to weighing yourself in the morning, in minimal clothing, and after using the bathroom.0 -

No, sleeping after a meal doesn't increase your weight. It's temporary fluid fluctuations and undigested food. It's not fat you're seeing on the scales.
Don't hop on and off the scales multiple times a day, it'll only do your head in. Fat loss doesn't occur like that. Track your intake and maintain a sensible calorie deficit and you should lose weight weekly.0 -

I weigh myself like 100x a day out of curiosity, but I dont realy care bout weight as much as I do about bodyfat percentage and how I look in the mirror. What I do is take my average, I usally fluctuate about 3lbs in a day.0

Well readin all this is quite a relief. ..well my ideal weight is 80kg...till I reach like 95kg...I wont see a major or drastic changr on my mirror image....though after losin 10kgs...I cn see my man boob getting less...and my body frame too...and also gt musclws in arms....so I think m doin great...and I ordered a food scale too....so frm nw exact details I can put in mfp...0

I remember reading somewhere that during the first part of sleep your metabolism slows down, but once you get into REM sleep that your metabolism spikes up agian and you start burning more calories. I dont think napping after a meal will greatly effect weight loss, maybe you will lose 1lb less a year if you're constantly eating than napping.0

OP asked if napping would cause weight gain. You came in and said yes, because Sumo wrestlers do it in practice. Myself and another disagreed based on something other than cultural practices and assumptions.

Eating before bed might give you heartburn and indigestion, but that's about it. We've been consuming calories before we invented "time" as it exists today. Eat when you are hungry, not when the clock tells you to eat.0

Basically, your metabolism slows down when you're asleep... So once off, sure it won't make difference.. but if done constantly and repetitively then yeah, you'll probably notice an increase..0 -

When person 1 is right and person 2 is wrong, it's a little misleading to say that person 1 is "more right" than person 2. It's more accurate to say that person 1 is right and person 2 is wrong.

just a minor point to consider...
if i went to bed weighing 150lbs and i slept for 8 hours and awoke weighing 152lbs and did not ingest any fluids or food or anything else that could account for that 2lb gain while asleep, that would violate the laws of physics. barring any obscure scenario to account for that gain of 2lbs (e.g. aliens) and assuming i'm not missing something obvious (i don't think i am), the person who could document and explain how 150lbs became 152lbs overnight would win a nobel prize for physics and the law of conservation of energy (matter) would no longer apply, throwing the whole world of physics into chaos.

It's not a debate. If you're offering scientific proof, then it's an exchange of information. However, no matter how many times I've heard people say that eating late in the day / sleeping after meals results in weight gain, I have yet to be offered scientific proof. My take on it is that if you can't offer proof, you're just spreading rumors.
More specifically, you are refuting your own point by saying that 'for normal people' it doesn't hold true. Number one, I don't see any indication that the OP is anything other than a normal person. Number two, physiologically, sumo wrestlers are the same as everyone else....in other words, they are normal people who eat at an especially high surplus of calories and limit their calorie-burning activity.
Now, it stands to reason that if a person spends a great portion of their day sleeping (whether immediately after eating or not), then they are burning fewer calories than an active person. So in that sense, this could lend itself to weight gain, especially when eating a very large amount of calories. However, these sleep periods (or other periods of inactivity) could come before eating or later. No difference.
Whether you've learned something that differs from that which others have learned isn't really the point. However, if you've learned something of which you yourself are unable to offer proof (as opposed to anecdotal "evidence"), then you may want to do yourself the service of examining the standards upon which you base your opinions.0 -
1 lb of weight - 3500 calories. If you have eaten only 1500 calories in a day you are most probably in deficit. Whatever, the weight gain you have spoken about must be water.
I weight myself every day and it works for me - anyone saying don't weight yourself so often is just talking opinion so I would just do what you want to.
I eat daily before sleep and I am losing weight
I'm guessing here - eating and then resting is likely to refuel the glycogen stores in your muscles - this will increase weight because glycogen is stored with water but this is good not bad - its not fat and it is good - it means the food has been converted into fuel for your next workout :-) I believe (read in the book the triathletes training bible) that your body also release more growth hormone when you are asleep - this helps amnio acids from protein you have eaten to repair your muscles - again very good for you.0 -
I would like to add to the sciences about how I always eat ma ice cream and lattes about an hour if not less before I fall asleep and it has yet to hinder my loss.0

Me too. I eat a little something about an hour before bed most times (usually protein laden) because I can't sleep if I'm hungry. I'm still losing an average of 1 1/2 to 2 lbs a week.0
