There was some article floating around about how the average American eats 4500 calories on Thanksgiving. For those of you who did your best to log it, how many calories did you come out to? I'm curious how accurate that estimate is!
I ate 3380 today.

I'm up to about 1800.
But I also managed to burn 1000 at Boot Camp earlier this morning so my net is around 800.
I still have pie and probably more wine, but I am pretty confident I'll not be too far over my target.0 -
2869. Not too bad.0
-
I didn't finish logging, but maybe 2200.0

1230... Canada, eh?0

Amazing self-control up in here! I went all out. Four pieces of pie, no regrets.0

I'm at almost 2700 which is not that far above maintenance for me.0
-
1432-I went for a long walk in the snow so my net will be less. Portion control is key!0

1673 so far(my daily goal is 1500 net). I might have a snack later, if I do some yoga to earn it. I worked out this morning, so that gave me a few extra calories. I'm determined to stay "green" even though it's Thanksgiving.0

Did not do well @ 4100 CAL with no exersize. Been saving up though.:sick:0

I had breakfast, sang in a early morning mass. Took a morning bike ride, then had 1250 calories for Turkey Day. I am proud of my portion control. My macros are shot to hell, but i am not going to beat myself up about it. After all for me its only once a year.0

I eat 4200 calories daily in maintenance anyway that being said I have not had any dessert yet and I am at 4850 trying to decide on ice cream or pumpkin pie...... :drinker:0

1857, and I'm stuffed,it will only stay at this amount if I eat nachos tonight at the movies otherwise I will be less than 1300. I tried to eat but was stuffed mostly 2-3 bites of everything n I was done.0

WELL OVER! Did run a 5K this am and no alcohol for me today.0

The goal is around 5k. I won't be working out or 'earning' any calories. I'm not one to bemoan being in the red though; it happens too often to stress about it.
1800 is just not enough some days.0 -
1371, with 400 to spare, and full beyond all belief. I planned ahead, and it paid off. :happy:0

Under 1500. Spent most of the day at the hospital where my wife is recovering.0

1600, which is the max I allow myself on my weekly "cheat" day (usually Sunday, bumped to Thurs. this week). I came out even due to my workout this AM, plus banked a huge deficit over the rest of the week, so I should be good.
I had turkey, mashed turnip, acorn squash, mashed potatoes and broccoli salad. No rolls, no stuffing, no cider or eggnog, no dessert. I feel great!0 -
So far, about 800-850. Still not done.0

well thanksgiving was a month ago here.. but when we did have it i enjoyed a nice large dinner and pies and was still ~1200 :flowerforyou:0

I ate very little today only 732 calories - but I am sick going on day ten. But was happy to see the scale finally moved down two lbs.0

2700 delicious calories!0

IDK exactly. didn't attempt to log. Wasn't all that much, but I did have hot Parkerhouse rolls, Irish butter and cranberry sauce. Having wine now.
Guesstimate ? 25000 -
About 1400, but I might eat some more turkey as a snack while watching Doctor Who since I have about 300 left. I also planned my "Dinner" (we eat at 3pm) last week, and did a treadmill workout this morning.0
-
I read that article and I was not even going to log today but I was curious so I did. I ate 2195. I was 266 over calorie goal as I had 529 exercise calories to eat back.0
-
Right around 1900 although I think there were a few tastes while I was cooking that I didnt log. I'm really proud of it though... my first holiday since I've been on track and although I'm over by about 50 calories I enjoyed every bite, dont feel like I overindulged and didnt bring home the 5 lbs of leftovers I normally would have0

How in the world can you all even calculate it ?!?!?
Fried turkey and more than a half dozen homemade sides prepared by 3 different people, plus homemade cakes and pies...there's no way to even guesstimate. I'm kinda curious, but even if I measured out portions, I'd have no idea how many calories each thing contained.0 -
