Your Logging Plan for today? (Thanksgiving)

I'm logging everything, accepting I will probably double my calories but being okay with it...I'm not drinking alcohol and I may go for a walk after dinner to make myself feel better...0

I'm logging, but just by using the quick tools calorie add feature as an estimate. I ate all I could hold which was much less than previous years and I enjoyed it. I walked two miles this afternoon, not because I felt guilty, but because it's rare that I get to be outside in the sunshine. I've lost 60 lbs during the past year and one day is not going to undo that!0

I just best guessed it. I had a very light breakfast (140 calories), two drinks, two rolls, 3 oz of turkey, and a big piece of eclair cake. It's telling me I'm only at 1100 for the day, probably underestimated some of it, but I'll have a small dinner later. I had a huge workout on Sunday where I didn't eat back my calories purposely for my Thanksgivings. Two days of at about 2000 won't hurt me (2000 is a lot for being 5'2 and not exercising). Two modest Thanksgiving meals won't hurt my progress, it'll be a nice refresher. But tomorrow I will go right back to measuring all my food and carefully keeping track.0

Logging everything, I know I will go over, but it's okay today. I also just did a five mile run and I'll do some dancing after dinner. Trying to make a habit of incorporating fun afterwards for years to come.0

Logging estimates based on a couple of years of experience w/ a food scale.
(However, in maintenance so accurate logging isn't really a big deal for me right now.)0 -
I quick added an estimate of calories, but was not concerned with accuracy. I have tomorrow off, so I'll do an extra long workout to cover any overage.0

I hold myself accountable everyday and today is no different. If it went in my mouth, I log it.0

I am confused......
Why do so many people say something like " I am not going to worry and I am not going to log ", or " I am going to relax and I am not going to log ". The thing that I can even understand less is " I log breakfast and lunch, but not Thanksgiving dinner, because I want to enjoy my family ". Ok, don't people enjoy breakfast and lunch ?
In my book neither has anything to do with logging or not. I am not American, so I can't relate to Thanksgiving, but my plan for Christmas is to eat exactly what and how much I like and still log it, because I am kind of interested in how much it was and because it's the lifestyle I am committed to for now.. Logging for me has nothing to do with worrying or not relaxing. It's a bit like brushing my teeth, part of my daily routine.
I agree with the people who log, no matter how much ( or little ) they eat, because it's imo part of this new lifestyle which is 24/7 and not only for those days when we don't have cheat days, holidays, birthdays, vacations and " because I deserve it " days. Or is there something I am culturally not catching on to ?0 -
Go look at my diary, I logged it all, including my Zumba class this morning. I am stuffed and ate everything I wanted.0

Americans...we are an all or nothing kind of people. We either like it big, or get it out of our way. When we have to eat, drink, watch football (American football, the real kind), and party we don't want to waste our time counting calories. It's just how we are. We're great fun when you get to know us. You should see us when it comes to guns, oh boy do we love our guns.
But, I logged what I ate today, and it came out to be around 3000 calories.0 -
I logged 1500 on quick calories. I have no idea how correct that is. But i was sensible at the dinner. Enjoyed it but only ate what i considered "worthy". Rolls to me - unless really special - are not worth it. Plus if i have the rolls - the only way to truly enjoy them is to slather them with butter. So no. Rather have dessert. Which i did. Got an hour of easy exercise in today also - but will be back to my routine of logging and exercising - tomorrow. So it was good! And i saw some people who had not seen the "new me" since losing 30 lbs and they were amazed.
Like many have said before me "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels" ----or something like that!0 -
I haven't really checked it out, but I expect to also eat between 3000-3500 calories for Christmas. Luckily the Christmas season here is not so cookie and bakery goods oriented as in some countries : There are actually no baked goods until Jan.6 when people eat the typical yeast cake dedicated to the Three Wise Men and that is only a couple of slices at the most. I am not sure what I would do in my home country Germany, where people go absolutely crazy with cookies and stuff starting this coming Sunday. I bet I would need two pages for my food diary for Christmas day alone....:o).0

Prelogged everything to help plan the day.
Ate most of my serious nutrition foods early.
Drank lots of water and ate several small plates before dinner.
Used a small wine glass and small, but elegant plate; filled both generously.
Planned leftovers; turkey and stuffing every day for a week, with kale, spinach, Brussels sprouts, and lots of salads.
Built in lots of exercise spread over the day.
Ate lots of only what I really wanted (turkey, stuffing, gravy, followed by a slice of pecan pie), instead of small amounts of many things. Very satisfying!
Finished under the wire in all areas except sugar, but I was expecting that, so I'm not blown away with disappointment. Feeling very accomplished, and, since I've been up since 5, and on my feet most of that time, will be turning in early. :happy:0 -

Had a regular breakfast of oats,brown sugar & 1/2 a banana.Lunch was hot tea with a cheese stick & several crackers.
Thanksgiving dinner was smoked/grilled chicken breast,stuffing,green beans,2 deviled eggs,a taste of my cranberry relish with
Lots of iced/flavored water. Dessert was a slice of apple cake with real whipped cream.
All was tracked & came in under my calorie goal.Funny thing is,just ate what I wanted,followed a tip saying to eat what you don't have often,making your food special.I passed on corn,potatoes,rolls & butter. It has been a Happy Thanksgiving.0 -
Not logging today. Why bother? Ran a 5K this morning and skipped the alcohol. That is the best I could do.0

I prelogged my day yesterday and had to adjust it today because I couldn't eat half the stuff I thought I was gonna eat. I was do full n still full and I ate at 3 today. I had captain crunch for breakfast n worked out for 2 hours before I had dinner.0

Logging and counting calories doesn't make me worry or make me feel like I can't relax, but for Thanksgiving (at least in my family) it's an event where everybody brings a little bit of something. I have NO idea whether somebody used skim milk, 2% or heavy whipping cream in the mashed potatoes. Did they add butter? How much? Sour cream.... low fat, fat free or regular. How much? Homemade rolls... awesome. Whole wheat flour? White flour? Asparagus casserole. I love it! ...wtf is in this again... other than asparagus? I don't even know how somebody would answer if I asked them, "How many grams of celery did you put in this stuffing?"
Counting and logging for Thanksgiving would essentially mean I would have to get a list of all ingredients for each dish to figure out what I was really eating. THAT would make it so I couldn't just relax and enjoy the time with my family. And at the same time, Thanksgiving is about being thankful for the things that we have. I would feel like a jerk sitting there deciding what to eat and not to eat so I can shrink my fat *** while there are people starving a few streets away from me or people who have no family to spend the holiday with and end up eating McDonald's by themselves.
I feel like today is about not stressing and just focusing on the good things that have come our way. My good things are family and I'm not going to sit there and dissect all of the delicious recipes they took the time to make for me. I'm just going to have a bit of each, enjoy myself and go right back to counting and logging now that dinner is over.0 -
I logged in 2000 calories. I think I ate less than that though... Who knows.0

I totally logged everything today. My calorie goal each day is 1230. I knew that wasn't a realistic goal today (especially with my Mother who thinks I'm getting too thin being the host.) So I told myself as long as I stayed under 1800 calories, which is well under maintenance I would be content. I actually came in at 1500. After 65 days of never going over calories it was seriously hard to let loose. But an extra 300 calories is not going to make me gain back the 30 pounds I've lost. Side note, I love Pecan pie but I looked it up and it has 768 calories and 43 grams of fat. I don't love it that much!0

I have logged everything today and stayed under. I just ate small but very filling portions at dinner (lunch) today. Then at supper tonight weighed food. Found out I had over estimated what I had eat. What I had thought was 4oz of turkey ended up being under 2oz. So I had the other 2oz. for supper with Hawaiian bread. Even splurged and had some fruit salad. I made a low sodium green bean casserole that came in at only 123 calories. Also had a small sweet potato instead of sweet potato pie. We can feel like we are splurging but actually making better choices than we used to and actually eating more but still being under calories. Just got done logging everything (waited til the end). I went 739 calories over my normal goal, which means I ate 11 calories under maintenance, which is EXACTLY what I was aiming for today, even though I didn't really think or log as I went, I just ate normal sized portions of everything I wanted. I knew I wasn't going to be hitting my every day goal and that was fine, as long as I was at or under maintenance (or just about). :smokin:0

I had already decided today & Christmas would be 'free' days for me, so I wasn't going to log. But, out of curiosity I did anyway. It's mostly estimates because I didn't cook this year. I also 'saved' some calories the last couple days or so to help the overage. I went way over my calorie budget, but I'm cool with it. Everything was delicious and I had a wonderful time with my family watching the Lions beat the Packers too! Yay! \o/0
