They make me turn green !! Anyway to make a sweet potato taste good ? Maybe a little less sweet and a little more spicy ?

Oven-baked sweet potato fries, seasoned with salt and ground chipotle or cayenne, with a dip of either mayo/aioli flavored with lime and a little more hot ground or fresh hot pepper, or ketchup kicked up with hot sauce.
Boiled or baked until barely tender (so it won't fall apart) and used in a chili, stew, or curry.
Cooked, mashed, and thinned with broth or milk to make a soup; could include apples and/or onions. Flavor with curry spices, or with ginger/nutmeg/cinnamon/allspice.0 -
I hate them too. I use them in the follow ways:
1. Oven fries or chips
2. Peel & boil, then mash & add to crock pot soups, chili, sloppy joes, etc
3. Peel/boil/mash & add to baked goods - muffins, cakes, etc (ie: cran-walnut-sweet potato breakfast muffins)0 -

I like making oven baked fries.
Putting lots of cayenne pepper and peri-spice on it. But if you really don't like it, you could always save your calories for something you do like.

I hate sweet potatoes, but my husband loves them...so I compromise.
Although it doesn't add spice, it doesn't necessarily bring out the sweetness either.
I slice the potato so they're 1/4"-1?2" thick circles and bake them in the oven until tender.
While they're cooking, I make a mayo based tuna salad, with mustard, Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic powder added.
Once the potatoes are tender, I put the tuna salad on top of them, and then some cheese on top of it all.
Put it back in the oven until the cheese is melted...even starting to get chewy if you like that.
Crushed red pepper would be good on it, but even like that its pretty good!0 -

WHAT? Just bake/roast them in skin for 45~60 minutes till they ooze with sweet sugary juices, then, EAT THEM, just like that..
They're really the sweetest thing I probably eat, chocolate & ice cream comes first though 0 -

Sriracha & soy sauce are pretty good on sweet potatoes, with or without some crushed pineapple and, um, yeah. More Sriracha.0

Thanks guys .... I will see if I can fall in love !! My hubby LOVES the sweet potato which is why I am not completely ruling it out. But a plain sweet potato ... not the greatest I must say !!!0

My favorite savory ways to eat sweet potato are cooked in the crock pot as part of a stew with a little soy sauce, or topped with spicy sausage, cheese, and broccoli.0

I make black bean and sweet potato enchiladas that are outta sight my man.
Seriously though they are very good.
I cook the sweet potatoes and black beans down in chicken stock, garlic, and onion then drain
Then I make a chili gravy (basic roux with chicken stock, a splash of beer, and homemade salsa roja)
I heat the corn tortillas in grapeseed oil, pat dry and stuff with the sweet potato mixture and smoked gouda
Roll and top with the chili gravy and cook at 350 for 20 mins
pull out top with more cheese and heat an additional 5 mins
I serve with guac and sour cream0 -
bake it wrapped in foil with a little bit of butter and honey on it.0
