Bloating fix?

Like many women, I get bloaty and gassy once a month. I find air travel can do this to me too.

To be clear: it's not real weight gain and I know that. Most months I just ride it out and enjoy the feeling when it goes away. NBD.

But. I've just consulted my calendar, and I have realized that next month the timing will be unfortunate. Not life-and-death unfortunate, but I will be feeling fat and looking puffy right when I least want to be, with air travel and food cooked by others thrown in. So for purely cosmetic and vain reasons, does anyone have a good quick fix for that? I know to drink lots if water, but would taking some kind of diuretic or anti-gas pill be useful? I'm looking for a one-time temporary solution.

I have had to eliminate gluten from my diet. I have discovered that this alone has helped my bloating issues even with the whole monthly thing. I am not sure if you are referring to the monthly deal, or in general with odd foods and travel etc. If it's just that, Gas-ex works, or water with lemon can help with bloating from excess fluid retention.
  • two doctors recommended dairy be eliminated from my diet. it worked. however, a quick fix, if you are able to, take a laxative a day before you travel or your special event. it isn't a long term fix and shouldn't be used routinely, but it will help with the bloat in moderate use.
