lol... I didn't say I don't WATCH those shows, I just try to take everything with a grain of salt. I think a lot of the people on the morning lineup are a bit alarmist...0 -

In the summer or when we are exercising we need a lot of water. Ask your doctor when in doubt. Um, The View isn't exactly the Medical Science channel...:ohwell:0

I thought i was supposed to drink a gallon a day! What am I "supposed" to drink? I drink my diet coke religiously! Does that count? I swear I could drink a gallon of that!0

Okay. Not to be gross or anything but I think the best way to know if you are adequately hydrated is to watch the color of your urine. It should ideally be clear to light straw colored. Yellow means you need more fluid. So, I try to drink a lot of water but if I am exercising or if it is a hot day then sometimes my "baseline" water (my "input") is not adequate and I know that by watching what my urine (my "output") is doing.
Hope that gives you a different perspective and hopefully helps . . .0 -
When I was in school for massage therapy one of my teachers said that the rule for water intake was take your weight divide it in half and the number you get is how many ounces you should drink a day. I don't know how accurate that was or where she got her info...anyone ever hear of that? I'm a big water drinker anyways so I never applied it to myself. I know I'm hydrated lol.0

4-6 glasses..like 8 oz glasses?? O HELL NO! I drink at least 2 gallons of water a day and I am very grouchy when my water intake is limited.0

I know if I don't drink enough I feel it...so I at least get 8 ozs.....water just feels right...plus its all I drink besides my morning coffee so it's pretty easy LOL...
And ya the view and there is another one that I catch if I'm home...I forget there names that's how insane they are...put the chick's skirts keep getting shorter and her hair keeps getting blonder if that helps anyone....they had a thing about autism once and I was like OMG NO THEY DIDN'T! they totally got it all wrong...after that I was like...ya fluff goes good w/ P&B....not so much for informative tv

Unless you take GNC's Womens' Ultra Mega Active Formula vitamins, in which case your urine will be about... this color.

Let me put it this way... i've never seen a star athlete drink only 6 glasses of water a day. Most I know of drink close to, if not more than, a gallon of water a day.
Not to mention ice water burns calories.0
