Snap Crackle POP!

Anyone else have popping, crackling knees when you do stairs, squats, etc? I feel like I am WAY too young to have this problem (I'm only 26), but my body sounds like a bowl of Rice Krispies when I go up or down stairs or do squats or other things that bend my knees. It doesn't really hurt, it's just NOISY!

I am the same way. I am only 20. But my knees and ankles are constantly popping. Like you said, it doesnt hurt at all, but it worries me that I might be doing damage without even feeling it.0

Mine have been doing that since I was about 14 years old- I'm 32 now. Have you ever had any knee injuries? That's one thing that can cause it.0

I've had this as long as I can remember! "Crunchy" sounds in my knees when doing all sorts of things! The problem for me is that I often have knee pain with it. I've never gone to a PT for it, but I'm sure I'll need to get it checked out someday soon. I definitely don't want my knees to slow me down.0

That's funny - when I do my aerobics at home, there's this "kick back" move - and my one knee always pops really loud with each kick back!! LOL! I have rheumatoid arthritis, so I didn't know if that had anything to do with it. But it sounds like I'm not alone!!! :-)0

My knees do the same things especially when I do squats and I am 29.0

I'm 21 and I snap, crackle, and pop sometimes too! My husband laughs at me. LOL he can hear it.0

I'm the same way. I'm 24, and my knees sound like I'm 84! No pain, just crackling. And no previous knee injuries either. And its not just squats; I've been doing the 30 Day Shred and one of the warm up moves is "knee circles" - I'm snapping and popping all over the place.0

I have the snap, crackle, POP sound too!! But mine is very painful. I have been told it has to do with the arthritis in my knees. I have also been told I could need surgery down the line because of the cracking sound. It's your knee cap and everytime it cracks like that it's being rubbed against somthing and wearing it down. I have been to physio for mine in the past and it does help. You should go see a doctor about it though. They may give you some exercises to help strengthen your knees.0
