How do I cook a full meal using just a microwave? Steamed veggies I can handle, baked potato- no problem, but full meals? We've been living off of Little Ceasar's and Halloween candy for 3 days, and I'm running out of mini-Heath bars and Milk Duds, and when they're gone, the enjoyment factor's gonna go way down!

Hmmm...i know there are ways to cook in the micro, but a slow cooker would be much easier, and tastier I'd think!

I'd go out and get an electric skillet that way you can cook on/in it It would be worth the price - even if you got a cheap one at walmart/target until you're stove and oven are fixed .

Hope that helps! Hope your stove/oven get fixed soon!

Is there a Big Lots near you? If so, go get a cheap slow cooker and toaster oven. Much better tasting food can come out of those for full meals, and it's really very cheap to get them.

I realized my post was absolutely not helpful! So I looked and found this:

    http://busycooks.about.com/od/microwaveovens/a/microwavemagic.htm

Not entirely helpful, but does give tips on cooking, the second page of it has recipes.

Bummer! Sorry about your stove and oven! ~put the Halloween candy down~

You could get already prepared meals that can be cooked in teh microwave, such as some frozen pasta and veggie mixes in the freezer area of the store? Frozen dinners should be able to be cooked in the micro. Hmmm...you could heat up some broccoli and cheese and put it on a mico-baked potato! Yum!

I also say a crock pot (slow cooker) is a great idea. They are fairly inexpensive for the length of time they last and they can make food go a long way. There are some great healthy recipes on-line and some great cookbooks avaiable as well. I just got a new one over the weekend ($29.99 + $5 off at Bed, Bath, & Beyond). What about grilling meats on the outside grill. We do that too, all year long (even in the snow.) Good Luck!
