Late Night Training and Eating

This is likely something that the more bodybuilding-oriented folks can help me out with.
But I train at night 9-11pm, since I'm a graduate student and in a lab all day. I'm usually hungry after I train but not sure whether it's a good idea to eat or not. My meal would occur anywhere between 10:30pm - 12am, and I knock out at around 1am.
I tried eating my typical post-workout meal of 3cups of cheerios and 3 scoops of protein, but the change in timing didn't sit too well with me. Then tried eating nothing post-workout, but still made sure I got all my calories in before training and I felt like I lost size and my hunger was insatiable the next day.
Any tips on finding that middle sweet spot? What do you do?

meal timing is pretty much irrelevant..so eat when it works best for you ..
with a schedule like that you might want to consider IF/Lean gains...0 -
I'm actually doing a mix LeanGains and the Renegade diet. Working my window to 3-11 from 7-2:30 that it used to be. Just wondering about going to bed after taking something like Mutant Mass that contains 88grams of carbs (including waxy maize and dextrose). Trying to stay lean so I can put of cutting for next summer for as long as I can0

Has anyone actually had any experience with CBL? It looks really fun after the gruesome first 10 days0
