Getting back on track

Hi everyone,

I have started this journey many times, but I have been committed this time more than before.
Earlier this summer I ate healthy and worked out for about 3 weeks and then just from regular life I lost 5lbs by end of summer. I came back after holiday and lost another 2lbs. Total loss was 7lbs.

I lost track for 2 months and I gained back about 3lbs.

I have started eating healthy and working out every day for 40-45 minutes burning 500 calories according to my Polar FT4.
I do have a cheat day once in the weekend.

However, I haven't noticed any weight loss and actually gained 1lbs. I am not sure if its muscle or water or whatever. Just feeling a bit discouraged as I am working harder than before and seeing no progress. And actually weight gain :\

I have been reading tons of forums and trying to get motivated and more ideas, but just need some help to go in the right direction. Should I be discouraged? I think I will take measurements tomorrow and will try to avoid stepping on the scale more than twice a week.

  • I'm in the same boat when it comes to starting over! Do you eat back what you burn off exercising? Some people follow a method on here that involves not eating back exercise calories. Also it could be muscle gained because of all the exercise. Working out everyday is fantastic commitment. Don't give up just focus on eating the right type of food and drinking lots of water. I'm struggling to loose as well. Feel free to add me, we seem to have similar goals!

    Try changing up your workouts, I noticed that helped me. If you don't already do strength training, try that as well (it can also be in the form of pilates, because in that case you'd be using your own body weight for resistance). Also try calorie cycling (i.e. 1200 one day, 1400 the next, 1300 the next, 1500 the next...etc).
