I hope you are ready to stop eating a ton of stuff, because gelatin is widely used in many things. Marshmallows, Pop tarts, any cereal with frosting (frosted flakes), Frozen vegetables, a lot of icing or frosting, cream cheese, sour cream, the list goes on.0

My daughter went vegan and gave up everything with Gelatin.0

Much better if I don't know about it.0

I'm not going to stop drinking artificially raspberry flavored drinks because they're made from beaver butt.0

Beaver butt is natural - I didn't watch the video but Im pretty sure gelatin is horse hooves, no? Also a natural product.....right? LOL0

Lol, yes. But doesn't it make you wonder.. How in the world did someone find out about a beaver's butt tasting like that??? haha.0 -
"•The presence of gelatin may also bring harm to the human body by bringing with it diseases that may affect the body dangerously."
This is a very vague statement. I have eaten things with gelatin in them for years, and I'm pretty sure my gummy bears haven't passed along any diseases. Common sense people...they're supposed to be a treat, not a staple of your diet.0 -

Sadly, that is the way to go here in the US, ignorance is bliss.
Other countries tend to take food and the well being of their citizens more seriously, like they ban certain stuff. Here in the US if you contribute enough to a congressman they will be happy to legalize it for you as long as it doesn't directly kill people.0 -

ha. thinking we're smart enough. joke's on us.0 -
Great. Now I want gummy candies. Just the topic name did that.
~chuckles~
But that aside, obviously if you're vegan or vegetarian, don't eat them. But otherwise? I'd rather as much of an animal be used as is possible, so I'm good with the origins of gelatin.0 -

I am with you, if you are going to kill an animal to eat it or whatever, we should use the whole thing. I have problems with killing an animal just for their tusks or hide, that isn't right.
However, I will point out that my daughter went vegan because of what we do to our animals in the US. The hormones and the antibiotics in our food are the biggest problem in this country. While I don't have much problem with gelatin, I do try very hard to eat grain fed beef and antibiotic free chicken. I am certainly no perfect when it comes to that, but I try to better.
Oh and when my daughter went vegan it solved most of her stomach issues.0 -
