It's been 17 days (since my last measurements) and just over 11lbs (since my start on 10/14/2010).

I lost TWO inches around my hips!! I also lost 3/4in on each calf. :) SO very happy to see some results other than the scale.

I did gain some on my waist (1 inch) and lost some around my belly button (1.5 inches) from Jack turning head down from breech and dropping I believe so no complaints there. :)

Are you trying to lose weight or just maintain while pregnant?
  • I guess i'm not a doctor but I don't think its healthy to loose a big amount of weight while pregnant.

    My calories are on maintain.

Believe it or not, I'm not stupid.

My DR is VERY involved in my diet and work out. I'm up over 25lbs for the entire pregnancy.

I gained 22.5lbs in 6 weeks which is absolutely not healthy.

Glad to see your taking good care of your health even in pregnancy. Too many women see it as a way to just eat whatever and then wonder why they gained 70 lbs. I lost in the beginning of my pregnancy and only gained a total of 15 which was all baby because I lost it all within the first couple of days after birth. What sucked is that I was overweight to begin with so I had no baby weight excuses. haha
  • I lost weight when I was pg, I got sick with Fifths Disease, and couldn't eat (baby was fine). As long as your doctor is on board, and you are eating the correct amount of calories, I see nothing wrong with trying to stay fit while pregnant. I exercised (irish step dance-which involves a lot of jumping and movement) up until I was 38 weeks pg with my third and pushed him out in 2 pushes! I just made sure my heart rate didn't get too high. Got my figure back faster too, even with on demand nursing. Also in the 3rd trimester the baby gains more weight, but it is common for your weight gain to slow down or just maintain. My sister was 100% vegetarian and did yoga with her baby (May 10) and got down to within 5lbs of her start weight by 2 months postpartum. So good that you are staying healthy for your baby! I put on 50lbs when I was pg with my first, and ended up with preeclampsia (I don't think there is a proven link, but I feel that my diet caused it).
  • ^^Thanks for the support.

I'm having regular growth ultrasounds for another reason and I'm happy to report my baby is quite large for his gestation lol. My first was 8lbs 8oz over a week early so I'm not surprised.

Good job on the maintenance! It does feel good to lose inches even if not "losing" pounds! Keep up the great work!
