Before and After Pics (34 pounds down)

I recently posted some before and after pics to my blog, thought I'd post some here too to encourage others on their weight loss journey. I started actively seeking to lose weight around the beginning of June 2010 and reached my goal on October 13, 2010. Since then, a couple more pounds have come off and I've let them, but I've entered maintenance and I'm really only looking to get in better shape now. I have done this and will continue to do this as a way to honor God with my body--it's a gift and I need to treat it that way!
BEFORE (between 180 and 190 pounds) Official starting weight: 181
AFTER: About 147 pounds
What I did/do:
-reduced portion sizes
-starting eating breakfast
-eat more frequently
-track calories and exercise (usually eat my exercise cals)
-breastfeed
-more fruits and veggies
-started exercising, really eased myself into it though
-never stopped eating the things I love, just ate them in moderation
To sum it up: EAT LESS, MOVE MORE.

Your transformation is inspiring. Keep up the good work. All good habits you've picked up. I really find too that counting my calories helps...because then I realize it's really difficult to manage enough to have dinner unless I get my butt into the gym to workout after work to "earn" more calories! This really motivates me to work out. You should put up a before and after pic on your fridge so you can inspire yourself to keep to your diet!
And yes, eat everything you love, but just in moderation! You sometimes have to stop worrying about wasting and just eat until you're satisfied (even if it's just one bite of that delicious chocolate dessert) or full (for meals).
I've only lost 3 lbs in the past 2 months - but according to my assessment this morning, my body fat went down 3%! So, I'm really excited about that. This is with a lot of hard core exercise I picked up (and dieting of course).

Thanks everyone! I got to tell you: maintenance is a whole new journey and in many ways one that requires more discipline and intrinsic motivation than losing the weight. I will carry your kind words with me for a while as I continue to improve my eating and especially my exercise habits. Blessings!0
