Neither my mom nor my middle sister can drink alcohol due to auto-immune issues. They presented with similar symptoms when they drank in the past. The simple solution is to not drink and go see your doctor ASAP. It seems like it is a really hard thing to do but it's not. I also don't drink anymore and it really wasn't that hard to stop.

def stop drinking - that's your first and smartest move.

You said stomach ulcers - those could do it. Also, Crohn's Disease could cause your symptoms. My wife was diagnosed at 21 or 22 and hasn't had a drink since - were in our 40s now...

Also IBS (Irritable Bowel) may be the cause...but Im not a Dr.

You also said you were seeing a gastro? If yes, go back - you need a specialist. Lots of things can cause your symptoms - alcohol is a violent thing on your body even when you are healthy, and whatever you do have is really getting pissed off when you put alcohol in you.

A gastro can prescribe tests that will pinpoint your illness - and from there, diet, medication, and perseverance will be your best friends....don't be afraid - you can more than likely get this under control and keep it there - but don't wait. Go to the Dr!!

    Good Luck!!!

    Pregnant?

Whoops, didn't read your whole post when I posted this. Still think you are pregnant Lol. Anyways, if this is ongoing, then you need to see a Doctor.

Yeah I'm definitely not drinking anymore. I actually was going to go home and drink one glass of orange juice and see if the problem comes back so then I can narrow it down to acid which will most likely be my ulcers.
I've had IBS for the longest time. I've had so many gastro tests ran on me it's not even funny. They already threw all of those options out the window. I don't have Crohn's. Already tested for that.

There is no way that I'm pregnant. Why does my nausea only mainly occur when I drink then? I don't feel like wasting money on a pregnancy test. And if it's making me this sick, then obviously my body couldn't handle it so I would have to put out the money for an abortion too. I don't even want kids. I'm not going to get ill over one. I doubt this is it.

You could have developed an allergy to alcohol. It's actually pretty common and the symptoms are very close to yours.

Ok so this just started happening around 2-3 weeks ago. I only drink ONCE per week. Just once. I drink extremely light, never get drunk. I use to be able to drink a lot and I realize our bodies change overtime.

No matter what I drink though, if I only have 2 shots at the most. The next day and the following day are pure miserable. I vomit, feel nauseous. Can't sit still and have to keep running to the bathroom. I vomit after every meal. I can't hold anything down. This weekend, I drank for my brother's birthday party. It has been 3 days since that night and I'm still nauseous. I'm not throwing up like I was yesterday and the day before, but I can barely still hold down any of my meals.

I have been to the gastro a lot since I was born with gastro problems almost having to remove my entire colon. I've had small ulcers spotted in my stomach when I was 19. I am now 21.. take protonix and such. I would of thought overtime they would have diminished, but this issue for the past 3 weeks is getting me pretty nervous. I was wondering since most organizational sites say wait up to one week before seeing a doctor. Colon cancer runs in the family, but I'm.. somewhat way too young to have that already. Do ulcers do this to you? I got my ulcers from stress-related situations which have not gotten better so it could be that they have gotten worse.

And btw, I am not pregnant because I am on my girl thing as I write this out. lol.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    In this order

    Stop drinking at this time

    Seek medical advice ASAP

Don't ask for advice of MFP members who are not qualified to give it

And for all of the posters who said stop drinking alcohol problem solved you are idiots

You could be allergic to alcohol like someone else said. Worth getting checked out.

A family friend of ours is allergic to alcohol - she developed it in her 30s and it got progressively worse every time she drank. She can no longer drink at all. She had similar symptoms - though I don't know about the rest of her health (i.e. if she had ulcers and what not).

    Good luck!
