That's 2lbs a week, so generally (this isn't exact science! It's different for everyone) you need to consume 1,000 calories less a day than you burn. Check out your BMR and see how much you burn throughout the day, and then eat 500 calories less than normal and burn 500 calories through exercise. Depending on your weight, though, this might not be sensible, If you're quite light you might not be able to cut this many - remember that your body needs you to net at least 1,200 of nutrients-dense calories a day! Otherwise you might go into starvation mode, which will lower your BMR and make the whole thing pointless! Good luck, and remember to be patient and in tune with your body!
  • If you want to keep that weight off permanently, just make sure you are eating healthfully: lots of fruits and veggies, minimal animal products, drink lots of water, good fiber and protein.

You might want to try running, too. Even running a couple of miles a few times a week can really help you slim down and drop some weight while at the same time toning and strengthening. You want to make sure that the weight you're losing is fat, not muscle.

Also, to get you going, or to finish up, you might want to try doing a juice or smoothie cleanse. Just make sure that you do your research first and do the cleanse safely, remembering to keep up your calories while cleansing, although your calorie intake will definitely be lower than normal.

And don't forget to drink water! It will help you feel fuller and is just all-around a good thing. But don't drink during meals, 1/2 hour before eating, or 1 hour after eating. This will ensure that your food has a chance to properly begin digesting without the water making it all sludgy and gloopy in your stomach.

What is your height and current weight? Someone who is morbidly obese can absolutely lose 2lbs/week but the closer to goal you are, the harder and longer it'll be. What is your current calorie goal set at? Do you exercise at all?

If your profile picture is recent, you do not have 14 pounds to lose.
