My fiance recently pointed out a research done on Greek Yogurts. Turns out, not all the brands being sold as Greek are actually "Greek".
Read the labels, most companies add Cornstarch in it to make it 'thicker". Chobani is the only one i've come across that does not have cornstarch added to it. Most of the labels have it listed in the "less than 2%" section, but it's still in there. No, i don't work for Chobani...i'm actually a preschool supervisor

Fage has corn starch added?
Regardless, I eat Greek Gods, plain. I don't care if it has "pectin" added to it. It tastes great, is low calorie breakfast for me, it's easy, and is filling.0 -
The flavored Fage is a different story, but plain Fage doesn't have added cornstarch.

I also did research on this a few months back, what a rip off for customers. Paying for faulse product in my opinion. Good post.0 -
This is not always true. The cornstarch is often used in the fruit mixes, not the yogurt. Many fruit topping recipes call for a thickening agent like cornstarch to get the syrupy effect with the sugars. Regardless, if you buy the plain unflavored version (ex: Chobani and Fage 2% & 0%) you rarely run into this problem.0
