Odd Holidays

Anyone know of any holidays that are unoffical but celebrated between them and friends or that isn't on the calendar?

lol primarily the only ones I know are:

9-19 - Talk like a pirate Day
3-14 - Pi Day
12-3 - Festivus

    On April Fools' Day our family always has dessert first, even if we go to restaurants. Kind of fun. When our friends hear about it, they usually start observing the same way as well.

    I actually have friends who celebrate St. Sheri's Day Weekend with me every year. :laugh:

    lmfao. In college, my friends and I for some reason loved to throw raging keg parties for odd holidays such as "Bastille Day," Arbor Day, " Mole Day (science holiday)," etc. Festivus will always be my favorite though. I think I have a metal pole somewhere in the basement. :laugh:

    There is an food network app that has food holidays. Like today is National Comfort Food day!

    I don't really celebrate any offbeat holidays.

    Banks and government employees in the US get some holidays not commonly observed in the private sector. Columbus Day is probably the best example. Veterans Day is another one. When I worked for a bank and had Veterans Day off, I remember going for a hike on one Veterans Day.

    ^^Love this! Will definitely sneak the Xmas tree into another room and replace it with a tent pole on Dec. 23 this year.

    25 May - Towel Day. In honour of Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Do you know where your towel is?

    First Friday of August - International Beer Day. Tends to turn into International Beer Weekend, since it always falls on a Friday.

    See this is why I made this thread....I need to update my calendar so I remember all of these things....I remember they used to have a 4/20 special on G4TV back when it was cool and that would be my reminder lol
