    the "C" word

And though I'm ok with the word "subtle", why's it got to have a "b" in it?

Another person here who doesn't like the word moist.

To add to the list, flange and awesome (I work with a lot of Canadians who seem to love the word).

I don't understand the moist thing... where did this start? what's the deal with this word?
  • Boil... not what water does, but the one that grows on people... I just puked a little...

Not a word but a phrase...it's not "for all intensive purposes" the correct phrase is "for all intents and purposes"

I hate it when my kids and their friends use the phrase "on accident" instead of "by accident". UGH! I WILL correct them EVERY time, even if I know I'm going to get 'the look'.....

    B**ger--so gross I can't even type it!
It drives me nuts when people ignorantly say, "I seen _____."

    yes i HATE irregardless!!!!!
  • why do people hate the word moist so much. Aren't cakes often described as being moist? or a face cream that makes your face soft and "moist." does the word moisture bother people the same way? just curious.

Chinzy - Like nails on a chalkboard!

And any sentence that ends in a preposition. Never end your sentence with at. (A guy here at work does that all the time. Sounds so unprofessional to tell a customer "Let me go check where that orders at".)
  • Really, really don't understand the hatred for the word moist. I didn't even know that was a thing until a couple of months ago. So odd to me.

Words that make me cringe are few and far between - but there are quite a few idioms and expressions that make me cringe.

I personally LOVE the word "moist."

Supposably. Ugh, it's not even a word.
Medium when someone's talking about the "median" in the road.
