Mid section

I know this has probably been discussed a thousand times but I really need some help. I have now lost 70 pounds, problem is, I don't think I am losing anything in my mid section (muffintop). I have tried to ask people for advice, but all they tell me is that your stomach is almost impossible to lose? There has to be a way? Any tips?

I'm almost positive muffin top comes from wearing your pants too tight.
That aside the stomach area is often the last place people lose (and the first place they gain) so that's normal. I'm sure it's reduced some, but perhaps it doesn't appear that way due to the proportions remaining the same or just the usual blurred vision that comes with viewing yourself.
I'd start taking measurements so you can have an actual idea of downward/upward trends in your body.0 -
Or. You're pregnant.0

It's probably the last place your body holds on to fat. You need to keep decreasing your body fat percentage. So all you can do is keep losing. And tell those people to shove it. It just takes time and dedication but you can definitely lose it.0

Lol.....unfortunately there is absolutely no way I could be pregnant0

From your ticker, it looks like you still have quite a bit of weight to lose, although you have already lost a lot... Congratulations on that! That said, keep plugging along and it will happen. You don't mention what your exercise routines are, however, if you are not already doing so, you might want to incorporate some lifting. It will really help you down the stretch... Good luck!0

Your body decides where to pull energy from first. It'll eventually start drawing from the stomach area as you keep losing.0

Hi, Mary!0 -
Belly fat always seems to be the last to go plus with a large weight loss you probably have some extra skin that will hopefully shrink with time. If you aren't doing any strength training I'd suggest getting started on that to improve your core muscles.0

I wanted to mention that strength training is important in that if you lose weight without it, you are likely to lose muscle mass (especially around the shoulders, chest, and quad/hamstring areas) and by losing that muscle mass, you may look "disproportionate" (AKA skinny fat).
If you are not doing strength training (full body--not just core or arms or whatever other BS is condoned), then you should start. The sooner, the better.
I lost 70+ pounds without strength training and I 100% regret not doing it. I wound up skinny fat, and if I could choose to, I would redo it.0 -

I total agree with you. I have lost 46 lbs and wished I had been strength training before now. I enjoy it and hoping to see my mid-section slim down soon.0
