Finally introducing myself!

Hi everyone! I've been a MFP user for a couple years now but have never gotten on the community boards until now. Sooo, here I am! I tend to be an on again/off again exerciser, meaning I'll have a steady run of healthy eating and working out, but then I'll fall off the wagon for awhile. Last year it was the stretch from around Halloween until New Year's and I gained 12 lbs! I vowed to not let that happen again this year. And although I started out heading in that same direction (I stopped working out a couple months ago and ate lots of junk food!) I decided to put a stop to it right now. I'm looking forward to making some new friends!

I can completely relate with the on again/off again issue. I'll do really good for awhile and then "reward" myself by slacking off. I'm trying to make some new more healthy habits this time around. Feel free to send me a friend request.

  • Hi and welcome! Glad to see you are reaching out for support, it really helps. Even if you don't have time to exercise, you'll still lose weight if you stick with your weight loss calorie goal. I like to exercise because it cuts my appetite, I sleep better, burn more calories all day long and feel better physically and mentally.

I have not used the boards much either. I, too, am an on again and off again gal. I have lost 20+ pounds in the past only to put it on again over the last 2-3 years. I want to lose 10 pounds by March (figure that is a realistic goal :-) and have done it before using my fitness pal and know I can do it again. Feel free to add me!

Hi and welcome! I can totally relate! I do try to exercise daily because it helps curb my appetite as one previous poster said. And well I like food so I have too lol.

Hi ya'll! I'm a little over half way there, about 30 lbs to go, started Jan 8 2013, it's time for me to buckle down and go get this goal, then of course maintain. I walk on my treadmill average 5 nights a week and log daily, i missed a couple of days logging around Thanksgivng, this is a crucial time for eating right. I signed on MFP in June/July and it really helps keep me stay aware of what I eat/exercise. I am down to a weight I haven't seen in over 8 years, LET'S GO DO THIS!!!
  • Glad to hear I'm not the only one who falls off the wagon on a regular basis, lol! It's easy to do, especially this time of year so I'm hoping I'll find the motivation I need here!

Hi, I am the same way. I get to the gym and go for a while. However, something usually comes up and I am not able to get there for awhile. I have since found a friend that I go to the gym with at least once a week ant this has helped both of us get there. And you are right, this time of year is the worst.
