Ok it’s only 1000k but not bad for an old tart that was fit for nothing two months ago!
History.
During a long illness I gained lots of weight due to inactivity and years of taking Prednisilone (steroids) I went to 22 stone 308lbs the heaviest I had ever been. After three major abdominal surgeries including a colostomy and a reversal, Diverticulitus, Ulcerative Colitis, Surgical Hernias two holes in the abdomen both of which I can place fist through but with exercise these are improving.
Two months ago I decided that I wanted to try and get free of the medication and take charge of my life and fitness, I was at the time taking Tramadol 8 per day, Mercaptopurine, Tizanadine and much more. After arguing with consultant he agreed to let me try and I stopped all medication on 7 August and started to log exercise and diet on 12 August, I had already managed to reduce my weight to 249lbs by diet alone.
Since 12 August I have logged my exercise on connect.garmin and MFP and logged all my food religiously on MFP every mouthful. I have had regular appointments with consultant and a dietician and to date in 57 days I have lost 25lbs and covered 1,000kilometres only logged one walk of many when trying out Garmin Edge.

Elliptical 273,000 metres in 15hrs 32mins Avg speed 18.5kph Avg HR 132 Calories 9,729
Walking 6,000 metres in 1hr 35mins Avg speed 5.3kph Calories 365
Total 1,000,000 metres in 61hrs 57mins Avg Speed 16.3kph Avg HR 126 Total calories 36,899
Plus workout with weights at the moment stick with what I consider not heavy dumbbells until I improve core strength sufficiently.
Longest Cycle = 40k, Elliptical = 15k, Rowing = 15k
For my circumstances the Rower seems to offer most benefits it works whole body strengthens back and abdomen.
My VO2max tested on 12 August was 21.70 when tested yesterday after 56 days it was up to 36.70 a vast improvement considering I started smoking again in August to ease the pain I get with the Ulcerative Colitis, lesser of two evils in my eyes a few *kitten* each day or drugs that knock me sideways. Don't know why it works it may be in my head but that’s ok with me, however research shows me oddly enough its a disease smokers rarely if ever suffer from and that disease developed just after I quit the dreaded weed years ago.
Now Age 54, weight 101.6kg or 16st 0lb Down 6st 0lb since Jan 2013
I intend to keep going as is until I reach current 90kg target, probably another 1,000k and then slow down on cardio and diet and work more strength and fitness towards my ultimate goal of 80kg.

Great story, congratulations on you're success! I'm curious, did you row with your colostomy? A friend who's a big rower is about to have one and I wondered how much of an issue it would be. I'm also hoping it can be part of her recovery process. Thanks for any insight you can offer.0

I had had the colostomy reversal beforehand but it would not have been a problem, depending on where the colostomy is placed I cannot see it preventing anyone rowing.0
