Hi I'm Damien: You can do it. I've lost 80lbs since 31/05/10 by making healthier choices and unwinding after work daily by just walking for an hr or so whilst I unwind listening to my ipod touch and using my footsteps app. I barely lost a stone going to the gym last year but the walking fits into my lifestyle so well. I do sit ups & bench press etc daily too but MyFitnessPal has been an invaluable aid in tracking my calorie intake.

It's amazing how many healthy alternatives there are when you look into things. Baked crisps instead of traditional etc and plenty of water, fruit & veg. I love my take aways like curries, fish & chips & chinese. I still enjoy these but have found healthy options for everything barring fish & chips so I just have them once a week before a slighty longer walk. Check out http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/ and check out the low fat & low calorie recipes.

I would say good luck but luck has nothing to do with it. MyFitnessPal helps you take control and combined with will power and regular exercise you WILL see dramatic changes. Feel free to add me to your friends list.:drinker:

wow 80lbs that awesome you are definitely an inspiration
  • Family, friends and work colleagues have been telling me that it's a dramatic transformation and even though I'm usually quite reserved I figure that if what I've acheived can help inspire others to achieve their goals, then I can set my shyness aside for the greater good. I'm happy to offer advice & tips to anyone who would like it. Feel free to add me as a friend.

    Kind regards

Great job Damien. I've told so many people about this site as well and I know it's really helped me keep better track of what I'm eating as well as my sodium intake which I never paid much attention too before.
  • Congrats on the weight loss but 80 pounds in 5-6 months just doesn't sound healthy to me. Watch out for it all running back!
