Reducing Your Appetite

Options
When you feel hungry between meals, have a sugarless cup of
tea or coffee - caffeine inhibits the appetite.

Ask yourself the following questions when you feel the urge
to eat:

a. When did I eat last?

b. What am I craving?

c. Am I hungry, or has my appetite been stimulated?

d. What is my reason for wanting to eat?

When you do eat try and eat something that is high in fibre.
Fibre can help suppress your appetite and has many more
fantastic benefits. You can read all about these benefits
in my article 'The Benefits of Fibre':

I believe yesterday you posted that you should avoid diet cola if possible (b/c it is a diuretic - dehydrates your body) therefore isn't drinking coffee a bad idea as well?

The caffeine is what suppresses your appetite which is what a lot of diet pills contain. Coffee in itself provides antioxidents. I don't recommend drinking too much as it affects your central nervous system but moderation is fine.

Moderation is the key with every food. There is no such thing as a "bad food." Too much caffeine can also increase insulin resistance. A cup of coffee won't hurt anything though.
