Already Ate Too Much Sugar?

Okay so according to my tracker, my sugar intake took me to a -14 amount because of JUST my breakfast while it says that I can eat 48 grams of fat today? I'm allotted 1550 max calories a day but I'd like to stick to the 1200 amount, and my breakfast was a green smoothie. If I ate 48 grams of fat it would put me at like 36% fat for the day which seems extremely excessive. So I guess my question is how am I supposed to eat like basically no sugar while eating a ton of fat? I am a vegan and I don't eat soy products, vegetables can't fill anyone up because they are way too low in calories, and I don't like to eat a lot of beans because they screw with my digestion. I mostly eat soups (generally low fat naturally), brown rice, fruits (high in natural sugars), stuff like that. I don't use oils, margarine, coconuts, avocados, or nuts mostly because of the price of nuts. So what should I add to my diet to get my fat up and sugars down?

I don't even track my sugar intake anymore. If you don't have a medical condition that requires monitoring it, ignore it. You already track it with carb, since that's what sugar is :)

I'm always over by breakfast. I don't track it anymore.
  • I pretty much ignore my sugar intake as well - I almost always eat my daily quota of sugar eating grapes in the morning. I'd just make sure you're not eating too much processed sugar all the time (from say chocolate, icecream or baked goods) and roll with it!
  • Nuts are high in fat. Have some peanut butter and celery.

I look at the three basics only: Protein, Carbohydrates, and Fats.

Most of the time my fats are fill by the meats i choose to eat. i try to have Healthy fats to fill in the rest. Ground Flax Seed, Avocados, Whole, raw nuts, and nut butters. They are worth the bang for your buck!
  • Hey!

I just posted something very similar to this!

I need help too - I snack on fruit and almonds because veggies don't fill me up but I always exceed my daily sugar because of smoothies and the fruit... I think I'm just gonna have to switch to carrot sticks tbh, can't think of any other ideas

I try and stick to a vegan diet because my body reacts well to it. I'd say I'm 60% successful because I'm a binge eater :(

I'm going to add you as I'm interested to see what you eat :)

    xx
  • lol I screwed up yesterday but I definitey try to stick to vegan as well. I just hate buying nuts because they just seem so pointless to me but I'm extremely frugal :) btw I need ideas for my smoothies if you have any? It's getting boring. I'm also a binge eater, it's a terrible curse. If I stick with the vegan diet I do fine, but the second I step away for a cheese stick it leads me to eating hamburgers and crap.

Another +1 here. On the OP's other voiced concern about the amount of fats consumed, note that most posters I've seen consider the MFP guidelines for fats and proteins to be minimums to be hit, not limits to avoid exceeding.
  • I make a batch of 2 smoothies so that the ingredients stay pretty fresh and hate the washing up!

So I have half of 600-700ml low sugar juice (orange & mango), 1 med-large banana, 80g frozen berries and sometimes I put some fats in like 2 tbsp of flax seed oil but at the moment I'm putting in frozen spinach which you can't taste. Frozen fruit/veg keeps it nice and cold. It's pretty filling and very healthy! But even low sugar juice has loads of sugar in!

I LOVE putting spinach in my smoothies because I don't prefer the taste of it, so its amazing to just throw a handful in every morning. I haven't actually used frozen fruits just because I never thought to do it. I have been on a cinnamon kick lately. Like yesterday I put 3 bananas, 1/2 the blender with water, handful of spinach and then just put a small pinch of cinnamon in it. It is super good and its like eating pie.
