30 Day Shred Questions-Should you have rest days?

I just started 30 Day Shred and going on day three. Is it a continuous program or should you take rest days in between. I am combing this workout with cycling 3x a week plus lighter cardio on other days. Really interested to hear from people who have completed this program and how they did it. and your results Rest days or continuous. Thanks

You do it everyday, there are no rest days. If you are sore or very tired you can go at your own pace and use the modifications that Jillian has already built in.

In interviews Jillian has stated it is not meant to be done for 30 continuous days - she recommends 2 days shred, 1 day cardio, 2 days shred, 1 rest day and so on. Like any other exercise, you need to allow your muscles time to recover between sessions if you want to get the best results, to do it continually will result in muscle fatigue and a poorer overall result.

I personally am on day 22 with no rest days, but that's mostly because knowing my personality I knew I would be more motivated if I committed to doing it 30 days straight. As the previous poster stated, Jillian talked about the importance of rest days in an interview.

I barely made it through day 1 yesterday and today I can hardly move I'm so sore!! Push through it and do day 2 or will that risk injury?

I took 3 rest days while doing it...one I was laying sod so that doesn't really count.

    I lost 13 inches...

    2nd time around I took rest days....lost 5 inches.

Exercise helps relieve the soreness...make sure you do a good cool down.

As a PP stated Jillian did not mean for it to be done with no breaks and she has stated that you need to give your muscles a rest every few days and on those days to just do some good cardio.

If you are that sore take a rest day. Being a little sore is OK but so sore you can hardly move is your body telling you that you need a day off. Go for a walk to get some exercise in but skip today and do the DVD again tomorrow. If you are that sore your form will suffer and that is when you injure yourself.
