Work stay up late eat at night? How's weightloss?

Does anyone else work stay up late eat at night? How is your weightloss and fitness?

Would be happy to compare schedules plans experience work together to improve success.
Feel like I haven't gotten the eating sleep schedule down yet but also that it'll be differrent than the traditional 9-5.

Kindly please add me as a friend or let's exchange notes and ideas here in this forum.
Many thanks!!

I work midnights. I usually workout in the morning after I get off work and I sleep at least 8 hours during the day so I just eat like I normally would when I am awake.

Yeah, what she ^^ said. I work nights/evenings. I eat when I'm hungry. My day starts at midnight. I'm down about 15 lbs now.:ohwell:
  • Cool! I eat a late late dinner then get really hungry at 4/5am. It's kindof like my breakfast cause I just start with lunch later in the day when I wake up but not immediately sometimes not till 4pm or later. I feel guilty about the 4/5am hunger cause I go to sleep fairly soon after so I'm a little full when its time for bed but I usually feel too hungry to skip it but like I can't get the right balance of fullness do you think it's ok to eat one of my bigger meals breakfast then? I usually sleep till early afternoon and then have to get back to responsabilities. Just want to be ok with my patterns.
Perhaps some of the self doubt it cause its a time others are sleeping not eating?
I think it evens out ok like if I eat extra then I'm less hungry other times but I'm not certain. I e always felt some self doubt about not being on a "normal" schedule.

Thanks for any and all feedback and specific shares re your schedules/what works for you!

As long as you are staying within your calorie limit each day, the timing of your meals, or how big your meals are will not matter. Sometimes, having a strange schedule can cause you to feel more hungry, so you will need to find the an eating schedule that works for you to be satisfied, but as long as you don't go over your goal, you'll be fine.

    I work 5 days...err...nights a week. 11pm-7am PST. A normal schedule for me is:
    Bed time by 2-3pm
Wake up at 10:30pm and go to work
Eat 1st breakfast between the hours of 2-5am
Get off work at 7am and workout for 1 to 2 hrs between 8 and 11am.
Eat 2nd breakfast between noon-2pm. I workout on average 4X a week taking 1 rest day between workout days and flip back to a normal sleeping schedule on my days off.

I sometimes will eat all of my calories for the day in 1 meal. I make sleep priority above all else. I found when I lacked sleep I was too tired to exercise and would over eat , thus going over my calories to help me stay awake. My weightloss has been slow and steady for the past 3 years. Important thing is to find out what works for you.
  • Reading this is so helpful! There is no doubt that the lack of sleep has done that cause superfluous hunger to keep blood sugar energy going beyond what it seems reasonable or feels that I need. I overdo it so consistently I think my body is just too tired to function right. Don't have the answers yet. Eating an 11pm filling dinner pray could possibly sleep later without eating again but body is so used to something in the wee hours like an assurance of good blood sugar before bed. Seems like too much food now but maybe will feel any appetite in a few hours....
    Hmm!!
