Howdy, Need a ReSet

I have been using MFP for a couple years now, but unfortunately I am not at a weight higher than I was when I began. I lost 50+lbs back in 2010, weight that I was carrying for about a year or so, lots of underlying issues for eating ALL the food. Then last year due to anxiety I quickly dropped 20 lbs and I have seem to gain it back in the last year. Winter while I am still active I tend to bake a lot and drink high calorie drinks and so on. So I started a 6 week challenge almost 3 weeks ago, and due to the amount I have been lifting I have gained weight. So discouraging and the fact that brain allows me to go there so easily.
So...I am here, fully committed and ready to kick *kitten*. I need to 25 lbs to hit where I am comfortable, and then another 20 after that to be HAPPY.

Funny, isn't it, what our brains tell us isn't ok? Gaining weight while lifting isn't really that bad. You WILL start to see it go down. I bet in the three weeks, you have a difference in your measurements. Remember that with lifting, your physique will look different with a 20lb loss than what a regular loss of 20lb will look, say, with just cardio.
Cheer up. I'm having some trouble too and seriously need to evaluate my goals, find one that I can work toward and stick to it.

Right there with you! I WAS down almost 60 pounds-four pounds from my goal. 25 pounds and a ton of food later-here I am. Frustrating to say the least. We just need to get back to that mindset that we had when we first started this whole thing. At least you are three weeks into the new you-again! Chin up-you already know this isn't going to be easy and it won't happen overnight-just stay dedicated and by summer hopefully we will be at our happy place again :happy:0

As my trainer friend always tells me when I am down on myself for not being able to keep a fast pace up a mountain or my workouts are not as hardcore as they use to be, "You have already been there, which means you know you can again" I just hope someday I can get off the cycle and just maintain perfectly.0
