Prince...When Doves Cry is one of my favorite all time. For some reason never really have been turned onto EWF..although Reasons is excellent. Bill Withers...Lovely Day...yes, that's worthy of being way up there.0 -
Oh wait...how could I forget Sade
No Ordinary Love and Sweetest Taboo0 -
I forgot Nina Simone - Feeling Good...I deserve eternal damnation for forgetting her.0

Stevie Wonder, Superstition. If that doesn't make you get up & dance, check your pulse!0

I forgot Nina Simone - Feeling Good...I deserve eternal damnation for forgetting her.
Agreed!0 -
I'm not sure but it would likely be something by 112. I think this is something dependent on age because your list is a whopping pile of meh for me.0

The Four Tops- Standing in the Shadows of Love
Screw it. Anything by The Four Tops
The Delfonics- Didn't I Blow Your Mind This Time
Marvin Gaye- When Did You Stop Loving Me, When Did I Stop Loving You
The Stylistics- People Make the World Go 'Round0 -

I could sit here and give you a full run down of current R&B...but I can summarize today's R&B lyrics into the following "Please baby let me bang you." I'm a huge fan of all music, include the begging music that is now referred to as R&B. 112 has some great songs though.
So to you I say, "Your face is a pile of meh." Have a great day sir.0 -
Looks like I'll have to listen to a few of these "recommended" songs.0

Rawwr.
I would agree with you on today's stuff...These whipper snappers have no imagination these days. My sweet spot is late nineties early 2000's.
And while I might find new songs today and enjoy them, they will never hold the same nostalgic place in my heart as the music I grew up loving in my youth. I think for the most part we are all this way in some respects (maybe not though)0 -

Check out this 90's playlist I built a few weeks ago. Is real popular on 8tracks.

Music snob right here.0 -
I personally would put "I Put a Spell On You" over "Feeling Good" for Nina Simone. It may be because: 1.) I hear the latter too much in commercials/covers, or 2) I like Nina's more pensive/darker stuff.
However, I am a sucker for "Come Live With Me" by Ray Charles--it's sentimental but honest.0 -
There are so many, most of my favorites have been mentioned.
A few of my favorites
Mary J. Blige - Real Love
Al Green - Simply Beautiful (one of my wedding songs)
Prince - Most beautiful Girl in the World
After 7 - Ready or Not
Ready for the World - Let me Love You Down
Method Man and Mary J Blige - You're all I need
Michael Jackson - Rock With You0
