Facebook "sympathize" button

according to CNET, Facebook is loosening it's hold on only sticking with the "like" button and will likely have a "sympathize" button but, apparently you will have to use the emoticons to create the sympathy and poster will get responses in their notifications like "5 people sympathize with this"

They are so stupid. Why don't they just simplify it with a dislike button? I'm sure you fb users have friends that post the dumbest stuff ever like "Toto the dog just farted on the Christmas tree" I'm not going to sympathize with that. I want to dislike it! We are a simple minded species and should be treated as such!!!

    Most of the people in charge of product, or who are brass at Facebook have asperger's... is it really surprise?

    on posts that i "sympathize" with more than like or dislike, i just comment. seems pretty easy to do, and doesn't necessitate a button

    Aww...thank you. I totally appreciate that but, now I'm even more frustrated because I didn't get a notification!
