Calorie deficit?

I weigh 130 pounds at the moment. My daily food consuming is 1840 calories. I would like to burn a pound a week.
I want to create a calorie deficit for me, but I am not sure which is the best suitable for me.
Should I eat 1340 calories (which is a calories deficit of 500 calories) ?

How tall are you? 130 lbs for an 18 year old male is pretty light already.

i would not just lower your cals by 500... Go with percentage instead. Start by lowering your cals by 10%

If you input a weight loss goal of 1 lb/week, and MFP is telling you to eat 1840, you should eat 1840. You don't need to take an additional 500 off of that.

In any case, something is goofy here unless the OP is ~5' tall.

    OK....enough....

Dude, with how much you said you work out you'd be in a caloric deficit at ~3000 calories per day.

    ^ seriously.

how tall are you? why are you trying to lose weight? 130 lbs is pretty low. if you're trying to lose FAT, you should be lifting weights to build muscle underneath. your weight may go up (muscle weighs more than fat), but you will look a lot better and be healthier.
