Choice of words

A friend told me yesterday she doesn't think I'm as "pretty" as I was this time last year...when i was around 3 stone heavier. It didn't upset me, it's her opinion. I mention it to my mum today and she said i look haggered. This did upset me. I don't think she actually means it, she just chose the wrong word.
Just a shame some people don't realise their words cause offence and can harm some people. It seems i'm receiving the opposite sort of comments to before i lost weight lol.

They're just jealous and want to make themselves feel better. We're all human. You can just say "okay" and move on. It's a sign of progress!0
