Here we go...

Had a heart attack and bypass surgery in June. Found out two weeks ago that the bypass failed, and had two stents put in, which will last me for a little while. My biggest fear, is when I have to go in again for open heart surgery that I will be the same weight I am now...and that is NOT going to happen.

I've been here 100 times before. Same story, highly motivated each time. This time is different! I want to enjoy watching and actually participating with my two teenage boys. Want to go to the beach. Want to ride a bike. My goal is 110 pounds of weight lost. I am taking it slow, and enjoying cooking in new ways. But I don't want to die, enough is enough!

My favorite quote..."This is not how my story is going to end."

Yeah, I think I do, then I stick another piece of celery in my mouth...grrr...
I'm just at the whining stage. Once I buck it up, I will be good to do. Determined!
Ready for more family and friends in my life, and not so much work and stress.

    Thanks for being positive!!!
  • Well then, you are an inspiration to be trying again. "Never, ever give up," right? I think Winston Churchill taught us that :) I am just beginning for the first time, and I too hope that I can stick to my goals and not give up this time. Good luck to you! My goal is to remember to log ALL of my food, every single day. Then, once I get over this icky sick bug- I will be adding in my daily exercise. Have a good rest of the week! You are not alone! "Progress, not perfection."
