does your heart rate stay elevated after weight lifting?

I've noticed my heart rate stays a little high after i lifting for a couple of hours or so. My resting heart rate in the morning is between 60 - 80 but after i lift its 120 for a bit and then drops to 100 and then 90 and then back down to 60 in the space of 2 hours?
This normal? I've had an ECG and its come back as normal so baffles me.

if the doctors think this is ok then you shouldn't have to worry about it. myself personally i return to my resting heart rate within a 10 minutes. on that note i do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) such as tabata and the M100's so maybe that helps my heart rate return better.0
