I suggest protein shakes to help you get more protein without added fat. I use Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey though there are tons of different protein powders made of soy or rice if you can't stomach whey (don't go for hemp though-it's nasty!). Good luck!

I try to have a protein shake or bar a day. but i feel like i still cannot hit my protein goals :( I do use pea protein, I cannot handle whey protein powder it makes me ill!

Hey I'm a pescatarian who eats only tuna and salmon mainly. Feel free to add me and check out my diary, my protein levels are ually between 150-180g a day. I usually get my protein from Meat substitutes like Soy products and Quorn, Tofu, Fish, eggs - (pure egg-whites are great as they contain 0% fat) Whey protein, pulses, all nuts, seeds like Chia and vegetables, greek yogurt.

I recommend finding a whey isolate protein powder, if you have digestive issues with lactose, as it has virtually no/ lactose. I get about 50-60g protein a day from protein shakes - couldn't meet my requirements without them! It must be harder for vegetarians to get adequate amounts of protein without fish. One serving of Tilipia contains about 45g protein for me. Try making fishcakes for lunch - with egg whites, and oats instead of breadcrumbs. So easy and delicious!

Thanks, i added you! i do eat a lot of tofu/tempeh/eggs/egg white/nuts and seeds! i cannot eat yogurt, i used to eat it all the time and it always made me sick. i also cant really handle whey, ive tried Optimum Nutrition, About Time, and a few other whey proteins and they always made me sick. Same with quest bars (actually not sure if its cause theyre so high in fiber or if its the whey but either way i get sick/ bloated after) I think I will have salmon for lunch today :)

Cool! :) Do you have an intolerance to lactose? I only do when I have too much - I get abdominal cramps, its horrid. So I try and not have too much milk products. Have u tried eating fat free Greek yoghurt as it has has lower levels, and I don't have any trouble with it at all. I eat it every day. Whey isolate powders are the key!! No bloating and all the other side effects people sometimes get from Whey.

Have you tried PB2? It's powdered peanut butter with most of the fat removed. Liquid egg whites are another great low-fat high-protein choice.

I am lactose intolerant. I do take lactaid and probiotics because once in a while i will have cheese. I cannot handle anyyyy yogurt. I am scared of whey! Ive had so many issues with it in the past, so ive been using SunWarrior Raw Vegan blend and i love it. :)
