I know how you feel! ive been craving chocolate all day long. eat some honey instead, its alot healthier and it helps0

I had a day like that this past Tuesday. I almost ended up baking cupcakes and probably would have eaten 4 (although i'd be proud i didn't eat more :P)0

Just have one piece. Or do a killer workout that burns so many calories that you'll be able to eat more.
:-) I love chocolate0 -
I am not trying to come off insensitively, if chocolate is your absolute 'avoid at all costs food', by all means stay away and you have my deepest sympathies for feeling this way and enduring a stressful day....but if you have done well with your calories today, would it be possible to allow yourself a piece of really good quality chocolate anyway.
If you have had a stressful day it may help raising your seritonin (sp) levels and actually help lift your mood a little.
No matter what you do I hope life gets easier and if you overcome this urge (maybe a hot drink and a walk could help too) and if you don't get into binging many congratulations to you for overcoming this.
Best Wishes0 -
Clean your teeth, paint your nails and move away from the source of chocolate! Maybe you should consider not keeping a binge trigger in the house for a little while? I can't have cheesey biscuits anywhere near me for the same reason.0

Unless you're still at the point where you'll binge if you have it, find a way to work it into your calories for the day. On days I travel, I always leave room for the Toblerone I get free at Hampton Inns. One of my go-to snack foods is the Goodness Knows peachy-cherry that has dark chocolate on it and just tastes fabulous. You can have chocolate and be successful! If you can't right now, then find something else to focus on until the moment passes0

Exercise! A good workout is much better stress relief that any food would ever be and it doesn't come with guilt afterwards.0

Put 8 oz. of milk, 10 grams of chocolate sugar free instant pudding mix, 8 grams of semi-sweet chocolate chips, & 1.5 cups of crushed ice into a blender. Blend it until it is smooth enough to drink through a wide straw--161 cal, 25 carb, 2 fat, 8 protein. It's a good size drink & chocolaty enough to satisfy cravings. You could cut the milk back to 4 oz & cut out the choc chips & make it 78 calories in a pinch--it's still pretty good.0

So eat some chocolate? That's the only solution I'm aware of. Have a small square of dark chocolate, some hot or cold dark chocolate low-fat or almond milk (try with cocoa powder and no sweetener for minimal calories), oatmeal w/ chocolate-hazelnut spread or dark chocolate chips stirred in, or fruit dipped in dark chocolate.0

Add some plain baking cocoa (no sugar or cream unless you normally use it) to your coffee - a teaspoon is about 5 calories. I also have been known to eat 1/2 ounce "squares" of baking chocolate - about 70 calories per 1/2 ounce/14 g. The taste is bitter and maybe needs to be "acquired", but I like it. You could also go buy a small bar of "really good" chocolate - I've found such at World Market, the local food coop and sometimes at the checkout in such unlikely places as Michael's craft stores. I think the worst thing you can do is totally deprive yourself - hard not to binge when you finally give in.0

Buy some 85% or higher cocoa chocolate.
It may taste a bit bitter to begin with but it really is an acquired taste. It's beautiful once you come accustomed to it. Milk chocolate is way too sweet for me now!0 -
I just ate two chocolates...I feel guilty.0

^^^^ This. It's low sugar and high in iron. You will only need a piece or two.0 -
Skinny Cow Ice Cream Bars! I can't preach enough about these things! Only 100cals/bar AND they taste good! Go to the store and get you some!0

A day with out chocolate is like a day without sunshine....everything in moderation so eat the chocolate.0

If you really want it, then I would say have it; count the calories, log it. Just make sure you only have a small amount, by buying a small individual chocolate, or having dark chocolate 70% cocoa fat - it gives you that lovely chocolatey taste but is very rich and I don't think you could eat a whole lot of it. Buy a block, break it into small pieces, wrap individually, freeze it. Then if you really really want it, take out ONE piece and let it defrost, and then eat it slowly.
Try Choc o Lait - not sure if you can get it, can in Australia - low fat low calorie drinking chocolate, really soothes that chocolate beast!
But also think - why are you turning to chocolate - or at least wanting to "binge"? Could you do something else if you are stressed? Go for a walk, drink a big glass of water, deep breathe, listen to music, learn new ways to cope with whatever is upsetting you?

^^This! I love Alter Eco's Blackout 85% chocolate bars and can eat just one or two squares and feel satisfied. :drinker:0 -
Dark, high cocoa solids (85% or more), chocolate is actually a very healthy food. It is one of the few foods that actually help your body to repair its DNA. Just make sure you don't eat more than 40 grams a day, and DON"T eat it within an hour of any kind of dairy or calcium supplement as the calcium blocks the uptake of the beneficial chocolate polyphenols in the gut. In Europe, they sell chocolate made with dextrose (the industry name for glucose which is arguably better for you than sucrose). Much of Europe is anti-GMO so, if it is organic, you can be assured that there is no GMO in it. Eating a bit of chocolate here and there is my only exception to the no-sugar rule I have made for myself. I don't crave it anymore since I have made a point of nourishing myself better but I make the ultimate sacrifice and eat it "for the sake of my health".0

Help yourself I have plenty..... :happy:0 -
I ate chocolate today but had a good run to burn it off.0

Then eat some chocolate.0

Have you see Trim Healthy Mama? They make 'skinny chocolate' with 1/2 c coconut oil and 1/4 c powdered cocoa with Stevia to taste then spend thin on dish or in mold and put in fridge to harden. I've never made it...and it still has calories, but it's supposed to be a good alternative for cravings (in THM circles).0

How much room do you have left? Dark Chocolate is Ok if you don't over-do it.0

Not to get "all up in your business" , but since you did kinda ASK : )
Have some chocolate. Every day if you want. I do. I have it every day therefore I don't CRAVE it and I don't go all crazy with it. I've switched to dark chocolate. I buy the Dark Hershey Bliss or Dark Dove single squares. I keep them in a cookie jar. I have a 1, 2 or sometimes 4 a day. I have done that for 2 years.
NOW. Here is the "getting all up in your business" part. I read your profile and I peeked at your diary for the past few days.
If you are eating that little - not just calories - but volume and food that could truly fill and satisfy: no wonder you are hungry. No wonder you are "craving" food - and right now it's chocolate.
Truly. One must eat in order to lose fat and SUSTAIN those lifestyle habits that will get you to your version of SLEEK - for LIFE. I see that you've done what I certainly did for years Lose. Gain. Lose. Gain. I"m DONE with that. Took me a while to get it - but I"m working on LIFE, not a DIET. I'm not saying EAT ALL THE FOODS and eat with abandon. I'm saying EAT. Eat at a modest caloric deficit and find activity that you love. Ideally exercise that will aid you in body recomposition and makes you energized and totally BAMtastic !
Good luck! Enjoy some chocolate.

mix some sugar free coco powder and stevia in a bowl of greek yoghurt, always does it for me!0
-
I got sent 116 bars of chocolate in the mail the other day...talk about temptation I'm a chocoholic so that was just pure evil for me to resist it!!! Have some in moderation and you will be fine chocolate is yummy!
:bigsmile:0 -
If I want chocolate, I eat chocolate, however I don't binge - you have to learn how to eat your treats responsibly. If I denied myself the odd treat I would probably end up binging0
-
Your diary says you have almost 500 calories left. If you've hit your protein and fat macros, eat ALL the chocolate!0
-
Have some chocolate. BUT set the stage, take out the amount that fits within your cals. Remove yourself from what ever is stressing you out. Put on your favorite relaxing music and take time for you and the chocolate.
I eat chocolate almost everyday, and I have wine several days a week. Just have to work it into your cals. I also make it fit my macros. Both are healthy and I feel like I am treating myself when I do have them. I never feel deprived.0 -

If you still have some calories left, try making something with cocoa powder to help satisfy. Sometime I mix cocoa powder and peanut butter in oatmeal and it works (sometimes). Do you trust yourself to have just a bit of chocolate? Or what about some sugar free hot chocolate (if you do substitutes)?0
