Hi guys.
I just weighed myself and i don't know what's going on. I've gained 1,2 kg in a week!!! I don't understand, I've eaten well(my diary is open), slept good and worked out 3 times so far(one more time today). I'm not on my period, stressing or anything else. 1+ kg water weight seems extreme, so I need your help - why have I gained that much weight? It's really ruined my day

well if you know that you havent eaten 9000 extra calories then logically you havent gained fat. if you have then there's your answer, if you havent then calm down it's not permanent
also 1 kg of water weight fluctuation really isn't that extreme. water weight can fluctuate as much as 8-10 pounds.0 -
Check your sodium intake from the last couple of days. If it's high, then it is truly water retention and it will go away. I gained 5 lbs since yesterday, but I know it's not fat. I made buttercream frosting and had to sample it to make sure it was right, and since I eat low carb, the carbs from the frosting caused some water weight gain. I know it will be gone.0

1kg of water weight is not extreme at all. My weight at maintenance fluctuates by 1kg in each direction, so telling if there's something wrong by weighing yourself once in a week on a bad day is impossible. Give it 3 weeks before worrying AT ALL. Or start weighing every day to build a nice chart with a trendline that tells you exactly what's happening:)0

I once gained and lost six pounds (2.7kg) in a 24-hour period.0

So many possibilities including hormonal fluctuations, starting a new exercise programme or a more intense exercise programme (muscles retaining water as they repair themselves), consuming more sodium than you normally do, consuming more carbs than you normally do (both of these make you retain water), consuming a higher quantity of food than normal (e. you've eaten loads of vegetables which are still in your system), weighing under different conditions/different time of day, faulty scales... etc.
Looking at your profile photos, you seem to have lost a lot of weight. Surely you are already aware enough of weight fluctuations not to let them ruin your day?0 -
