  • I am 37 and have battled my weight since my early 20's, I was the skinny kid who never had to worry all that much. Typical freshman 15 and so on if you know what I mean. My fiance can eat what ever he wants and that has been the hardest battle for me. I just want to be happy and healthy and I am so sick of never getting to my goal. I am ready but need support.

Do not give up!!!! Start slow and keep at it and you will see results. I am 47 years old and when I was younger I was the "skinny kid" and got made fun of. I am only 5'1 so any weight I gain makes me look really heavy. I started out at 129 lbs and I am now at 120. You have to really work at it. It takes both exersice and diet and this website is really helpful. Just remember.....you will have bad days but don't beat yourself up about it! You are doing something for YOU so be proud of yourself!
  • Thank you...I needed that.

Welcome. Good luck on your journey. The easiest thing to do is discourage yourself, make your goals realistic and it will be much easier. Take care Eddie
  • This is a great site, lots of motivation. Definitely start slow, try to stay in your calorie goal and start walking. I've been on here for a week now can't say my eating has been perfect but I am staying within the calories and just going for a short walk every evening..For me I'm trying to concentrating on cutting out some bad habits. With 80lbs to lose I'll eventually have to pull out the big guns. So far just what I am doing has paid off my scale says I'm down 10 as of this am, but I'm not sure I believe it 10lbs in just one week seems too good to be true. Although I did cut out all diet coke which I consider my nemesis or trigger food and have been drinking tons of water which is something I rarely drank before.

I've seen a lot of people debate about eating exercise calories, I have my calories set to 1200 and do go over some but it gives me the incentive to go out for my evening walk to get me back within range. The more I go over the longer I walk.

    Good Luck!
