How many calories do I need? Setting up MFP

I'm female, 21, 5'7". BMR -1675 TDEE - 2010.
MFP gives me 1490 calories per day. I set it to lose 1.5 lbs per week. I also put lightly active because I don't workout out everyday like I should but I'm not a couch potato either. I'm not as physically active on the weekends, so there has been times where I've debated setting it to sedentary and then switching back to lightly active for the week but I'm not sure. I read online that I could eat
1450-1650 calories/day and lose weight. I know that MFP already has my deficit built in but I still don't really understand it.

it's all kinda right there. eat 1490 cals per day. meshes with what you've read online and everything.
that said, with only 19 pounds to go, i wouldn't recommend the 1.5 pound per week setting. 1 pound at most, and even a half pound wouldn't be a bad idea.0 -

I agree with the scary looking chocolate fella'.0 -
....and actually, looking at your TDEE, it looks like your request of 1.5 pound loss per week was overruled by the software in favor of my 1 pound per week suggestioin0

What do you mean by overruled?0

MFP would have her at 1200 if it overruled anything.0
