Pushing Through Christmas

I knew this past weekend would be difficult - multiple Christmas parties (actually found it tougher than actual Christmas). Anyone else out there pushing through the next few weeks becasue they have a vacay coming up....We can motivate each other!!

  • It's brutal! I baked my *kitten* off all weekend and left it at my boyfriend's because I'd totally eat it all! LOL I am headed to California feb 1st and don't want to undo all my hard work lol

I'm in! No vacation coming up, but definitely some personal goals that I don't want to put off. The Christmas season is brutal. Today there are piles and piles of homemade cookies and other treats in the kitchen at work. It's just so evil!! And today at lunch I had to do an emotional errand that was difficult -- dropped off Christmas presents for my recent ex-boyfriend's kids at their grandmother's (his mom's). I really like my ex-boyfriend's mom and her husband, and it just broke my heart thinking that might be the last time I see them. In my former days I would have felt like I "deserved" to eat three or four of those cookies after doing that. But I'm not doing that any more. What I *deserve* is to be THIN. And OP, what you deserve is to feel good during your vacation!

Last Friday I went to another Christmas party with lots of treats. Even though I ate only a few treats, my calorie budget is so low (1200 net) that I went over even though I woke up extra early to exercise. This Friday, you guessed it, another Christmas party. I guess I could hibernate and not go out, but that wouldn't teach me how to exist in the real world and still lose weight. So I'm going -- plus I want to go! Who wants to be a Scrooge? Not me! But a white wine spritzer it will be, plus eating off the veggie tray, and maybe a single cookie, for me!

I have two hot holidays coming up - the first is 38 days away! So I need to be good :) None of that darn Christmas bloating for me. :) Exercise and healthy choices.
  • I'm in the same boat..the work christmas functions are brutal..
I feel really guilty when I've gone over several times in recent weeks, but all you can do is your best to counteract it by exercising a decent amount. As long as my 'weekly' calories arent toooo much over, I think overall it should be fine and not ruin all of our hard work!
