Hello fellow MFPer's! Today is a great day!
Do you know what I realized have realized? I can lose weight by using MFP and exercising alone! Prior to starting this journey a year ago in October (2012) I weighed in at 205 lbs. (5'2" fifty two year old female). I had actually considered gaining weight to qualify for gastric by-pass surgery. I'm so happy I chose the path that I am on now!
So many people that write in the forums swear by calories in calories out, and it really is as simple as that! I had never counted calories before, I always went for the "Magic Cure" miricle pills, Jenny Craig etc. I could usually follow the instructions for a few weeks, but fall I would fall off the wagon because of the strickness that was recommended resulting in regaining weight that I might have lost, plus more!
Counting calories is just a common sense approach that I have never tried! My journey has been a slow but steady one! But I have learned a lot along the way! Especially from the advice of the sucessful MFP people here! To you I say thank you!

I'll be 52 in January and I started my journey in January 2012 as part of a biggest loser contest. I didn't win the contest...I won my life back! I will always count calories, I think and exercise is no longer my nemesis.
Yesterday, I set my newest goal...training for a half marathon in March!
I love MFP!0 -
