What's your plan for Christmas (or other holiday w/ food)?

Here's my plan: I'm going to eat yummy Christmas food (and be thankful). And, I'm going to rely on self-discipline to not totally blow it. I mean, one cookie decorated by my darling niece isn't going to kill me. I'm not completely ditching the diet for the day, just not counting calories but definitely watching portions.
How about you?

I don't plan on denying myself but I won't full out embarrass myself shoveling food in my mouth like I am cookie monster and haven't eaten all year...he he0

Same here. I'm going to eat all the yummy food and not worry (too much) about it. I'm having 3 meals....Christmas Eve, a Christmas Brunch and then we're hosting another Christmas dinner w/ friends the Saturday after Christmas. The days in between I'll make sure I save up a few calories and workout to give myself a little breathing room.0

My plan is to try to figure out what I will be eating with family and friends and then alter the rest of the food I will eat for the rest of the day. For example, if I know that I am gathering to eat in the evening with friends I will cut back on what I eat earlier in the day and make sure that what I do eat earlier is mainly fruits and vegetables so that I don't get a lot of calories fat and sodium. Hope this helps!0

1) Fill plate up with food.
2) Open mouth.
3) Shove said food into mouth.
4) Repeat.0 -
Luckly both large holiday meals are at our house this year. so it will be much easier to plan what I have for other meals and adjust according. I do know if I eat very much off my normal plan its like I turn on the cravings again. Not wanting to do that. Felt it a bit when a friend brought me a small treat today. Craving for cookies, cakes etc. Made realize even more I need to stay away from them all together!0

I intend to eat everything but in reasonable portions. I will still be over goal but it's only a day or two.0

I plan on eating everything I want in moderation. Double up on the veggies so I don't down half a pan of mac and cheese! Grandma's is the best!!!0

going to try to stick to my diet but wont beat myself up as long as i average maintenance calories.0

eat, drink, be merry.0

On Christmas/New Years/Christmas Parties and the like, I will eat whatever and how ever much I want. I will enjoy that time and likely be very full following it. On all the other days (probably about 20 of them) I will eat within my calories. Straightforward as that. If I come out of the holidays the same weight or with a slight loss that is great. If not, the gain will not be as huge as if I ate continually above my calories for the whole month.0

hmmm hunting ice weasel, and then wearing them in a new and unusual way... wile drinking mead, and other *stronger* things... playing find the pickle with my kids( fyi its not the pervy kind of pickle) puting up the tree on 24th, wraping things, eating,...and thanking the lord when my darling mother leaves on the 26th:drinker:
HAPPY FRIKIN' HOLIDAYS FOLKS!0 -
No plan. I'm not doing one single thing different, except exchange gifts with my husband and two other people on Xmas morning.0

I'm eating monkey bread at brunch and step-mom-in-law's house and then eating dinner at mother-in-law's. There may be snacking in the early afternoon and grandmom-in-law's. I honestly don't care how many calories I'm going to consume on Christmas. It's one day. If I can survive and lose weight with 2 Thanksgivings and 9 days of vacation right after, I'll be fine for Christmas.0

Workouts on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, no tracking and no attempts at dieting on Christmas Day or New Year's Eve. It's super unlikely that I'll eat enough in one day to gain anything more than a pound so I'm not all that concerned. This is what I did for Halloween and Thanksgiving too and I managed to get back on track fairly quickly. I will, probably, try to prioritize and focus on the foods I really love rather than splurge on things that aren't my favourites.0

My strategy is this. I can get mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans and a couple other foods almost any day of the week. So I leave those off. Then I eat moderate portions of the others and no seconds. I wait a couple of hours before I get desert and cut small pieces of apple and pecan. Pumpkin doesn't enthuse me much. Now the fudge I do have a problem with. I have a recumbent bike at home so I know I can get some work out on it.0

Everything n moderation, log everything just as I do any other day.0
-
I think it's ok to overeat on holidays as long as that one day doesn't turn into one week or longer. It's about seeing each day as a new day to get back on track.0
-
Same. I'll probably figure out approximately how many cals later that night out of curiosity and stick it in my diary. That's what I did for Thanksgiving. I'm definitely having a dessert. possibly two small desserts.0

I'm going to eat the same amount.0

Every year, I see all my family on Christmas Eve, and every year I have a different theme and cook.....2 years ago it was seafood with mahi and salmon wraps, sushi, and shrimp cocktails (yes i live in FL by the way lol), last year it was my homemade mexican food, and this year my husband and I are making homemade Indian food for everyone, and I told my family if they dont want/like that they can pitch in and buy pizza lol.....I usually don't eat Christmas dinner, just a breakfast!....
and no by the way I don't stuff my face, but I dont really log anything either lol, i just drink up a lot of empty calories haha0 -
My parents are coming to visit me from IL (I live in TX) so I have total control of the menu :smokin: Aww yeah0
-
That's a good plan. I am probably gonna eat till I burst.0
-
The only day I'm worried about is Christmas day. Other days I may have some treats, but I'll be at my mom's house for the week and I'll be able to make healthy food and eat small portions. On Christmas, I'll have very little control over my consumption because I'll be at my boyfriend's cousins' house. I'll bring some healthy snacks as a back-up in case there isn't much for me to eat (especially since I can't have dairy), but I'll have some of my favorite treats in moderation.0
-
I will go on a 100km ride the day before christmas... then eat until everything I want (probably just stupid amounts of seafood and christmas pudding) until I explode.
Good times0 -

beg to differ0 -
hoping to maintain for the next week or so, still working out though. the treats are too yummy. christmas day i'll probably let myself eat whatever. I know I can get back into this after a "break" so I'm not too worried.0
-
I am going to shovel food into my mouth until I vomit.0
-
I upped my calories to maintain today. I'm letting myself eat whatever I want, and up to a 3lb gain I will not stress. I still intend to log everything though, no matter how embarrassing.0
-
I will eat whatever I want, controling my portions and will exercise as usual but I'm not going to worry about counting calories or trying to hit my macros.
But I'm only spending 2 days with the family, the rest of the month I'll follow my routine as usual, I don't really crave christmas food.
overall this has been a very good december, the first one in my life where I'm not gaining weight. hehe0
