12 lbs of Christmas - End of Week One

Hello ladies! I thought I'd start us a new topic each week so that we can check in (without having pages and pages to read)! Well...I started this last Sunday weighing 183.5, and I did manage to lose the 1.5 lbs, so now I'm starting week two at 182. There were days when I was under my 1200 calories, and a few when I was over. I met my exercise goals, but took a day off yesterday due to an achy body (and sore head...had a cold all week that seems to have come back to haunt me). This week I'm going to try to eat right up to 1200 (and maybe a little over), because I think that yesterday (despite the cold) was actually a bit of a crash. So....here's to week two!

    Nice! I'm trying to lose 7 more, but have been stuck for a few months. I binge eat. =( Literally can't stop, eat in secret...the whole sha-bang! Holidays approaching aren't helping. Obesity runs in the family. I'm trying to keep control of myself now so I don't let it all go later. Perhaps we can encourage each other?

    Happy Sunday, I'm not a part of your original challenge, but 12 lbs of Christmas is my goal too :)
    This week...not so good, only lost .4, but I'm staying optimistic!

    It was an awesome week here, Heidi.....I went way over my goal on exercise, and stayed under my calorie goal....AND, I broke my plateau (a one month plateau!) and dropped 1.2 lbs. So, it was a very good week!

    Now to repeat that this week.....Hoping to drop more in weight this week though....I'd love to break 130 lbs! =)
  • My scale or my body don't know which yet is going a little bonkers..For sure I'm down 5lbs since I started MFP 10 days ago...Yesterday I showed another 5lb drop but it bounced back up today.
  • I'm down only .5 lbs this week, from 201 to 200.5. Yesterday it was close to .9 lbs, but I'm not sure how much sodium may have been in last nights dinner. I kept close to 1200 all week, and definitely ramped up the exercise. 368 minutes for last week! :) So maybe I gained a little muscle, or my TOM was sneakier than I thought. :) Here's next week!
  • Alright ladies - we can do this - it is a brand new week! We might be a little sleepy (due to the time change), but we can shrug it off and get some exercise! I hope that your week starts off well! Don't give up!

  • weighed in this morning and I am down .5 kilo..thats 1.1 lb!!

    I am really happy with this loss since I havent been losing a great deal lately!

    Unfortunately, this morning I was up 0.4 pounds.....yo-yoing is NO fun! =\

    i know im a week late but i definatley want to joing this group. im 147 now my goal is to be at 135 by christmas. ate great today and hopefully i can get some exercise in when i get out of work. i want this weight off already lol ive been stuck at this weight for a few weeks and i have been working out consistantly so im hoping if i amp up the work out part the weight will come off.
  • So ladies - how are you doing? Any challenges? Successes? Having fun? I've had all three - challenges, successes and fun!

    This past week has been CRAZY and the start of this one is no better.

    I went on a road trip to Nashville for the UF/Vandy football game and went out both nights I was there. When I got home I weighed myself and lost a little (totally negligible and not really counting as a loss) I think mainly due to my food schedule being wacky. Then this week (you know... all two days of it) have been really stressful.

    BUT I have my Insanity workouts scheduled and taped up on my wall, and I should be done early january. Later than I would have liked, but it's kind of good because the longer workouts (2nd month) don't start until after I'm done with my Fall semester so I'll have less of an excuse to find time to fit them in. This will be the... 3rd time? I try to complete Insanity. I always have the best intentions and then get super sick the 2nd week, so here's hoping my body will be on board this time around too!

    I don't know if I'll actually lose 12 lbs before Christmas, but I want to keep that as my goal and work my hardest to achieve it!

    Well, last week was my starting weight of 164.4, and this week I am down to 163.6. I'm not sure its a real weight loss, because I haven't reeally been doing anything right (as I said in my previous post) but it's a weigh-in so I figured I'd count it.

    I'm restarting Insanity today! Here's hoping my body doesn't crap out on me again and get sick!

    I'm also making a squash soup recipe I got from my friend who made it for me when I was sick. Yummy!!
  • Every day is a new start! I used to fall into the trap of thinking, "well, I've blown it now, what difference does it make if I just keep on eating." But that isn't true! Every moment of every day can be a fresh start. Even though I'd be thrilled to be down the entire 12 lbs by Christmas, if I don't quite make it, I'm not going to beat myself up about it...just so long as I'm healthy and doing my best.

    Take each day as it comes! Don't listen to that voice that tells you that you can't do it or that it isn't working....every healthy day is GOOD whether we see results in numbers or not!
  • Well my pals - we're heading into the second half of the second week! Be strong for the weekend! I'm trying to change up my exercises a bit to get my heart rate going, and to relieve a little boredom! So, I'm trying my hand at Jillian Michaels' workouts. I think that they might be a perfect fit! (Except I'm unsure about the yoga...since I'm not familiar with all of the poses, and find it difficult to be on my stomach or upside-down holding a pose and watching the TV at the same time....) :tongue:

    Down three since we've started. :smile: I need four more! Maybe I'm down only two....I was afraid to get on the scale after Thanksgiving. :laugh:
